CGC rocks! They unrestored a few of my biggest books. Congrats!

Yes, the book is complete. Thanks for the excellent question, this is really helpful info for new community members and novice graders when grading their own books.
I wish I could take more credit for "knowledge"... I actually had TWO of these books, both minus the poster, and didn't realize it on EITHER until I got them both back from CGC.... both with green labels.

PGM ASM 20 - First appearance of the Scorpion. Slight staple tear at the top staple. 1/4” tear on right edge by Spidey’s boot. Cover and centerfold firmly attached.
Just confirming... it's still got the poster in the back, right? That gets removed a lot. I know from experience.

I have a few questions - does tape restoration like this merit a "restored" grade? I figure it's a ding, but how much? I will likely sell this and the other books from this lot as raw - all of them have tape restoration besides 1 or 2 - but I am having trouble figuring out how to price this.
It's not restored. But figure the highest grade that a book with tape can get is VG+/-. And you're not the first to miss tape. I had a TTA27 with tape on the inside cover that I never noticed until I got it back from CGC.

Looks like my copy, which came back a 7.5. Hopefully you'll do better!

I looked up some of his current sales... it seems he's turned over a bit of a new leaf. He mentions restoration in his descriptions.

The little blue sticker says its a FN. If you can't trust the little blue sticker, who can you trust?

Without photos, it's hard to say... but based on the notes, you may find the easier path to serenity being acceptance.
Otherwise you'll spend more money...
...and have more frustration. (sure, it LOOKS fun... but... )

This guy I know sent a bunch of AF15's to CGC. Next thing you know, CGC's legal team is involved. True story!

It's 4.5 pre-press IMO.
As was mentioned, by Captain Obvious @oldrover, this desperately needs a press.

I'm outside the consensus here:
5.0/5.5
I think I am too.
I had an ASM 31 that was pristine, except for a massive diagonal crease from top left to about mid right of the cover.
Sold it as a 6.0 on eBay raw.
The guy who bought it from me submitted it to CGC. It came back as a 6.0. Whew.
So in general, I'd say 6.0 is the highest for a book with a big crease.
This book has other minor issues... so maybe a 5.0? Still a dang nice part of your mighty Marvel stash.

First off, this book needs a press like no other book I've seen. It's almost too tough to grade without a press.
I'll hazard a 5.0 with a press, but that's really just...
...spitballing.

PGM ASM 31
in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

6.0 now, 6.5-7.0 after a press. Great book!
