  1. Just a handful of 1st appearances today...

I live in CLT and will be happy to hand-deliver at HeroesCon (but payment upfront required to hold); otherwise shipping is free to the US via USPS Priority. (Will ship internationally at cost)

Books will be shipped within 1 business day - same day if at all possible.

No returns as all books are CGC graded.

Prefer Zelle or Venmo, but Paypal or personal check are cool too.

I purchased all of these except for the 184 raw off the boards around 2006 and sent them to CGC myself several years ago... wish I remember who the original seller was b/c this was a great batch of books that he had originally graded all NM or better.  On point!

::takeit:; in the thread trumps everything... prices are pretty firm for singles, but if you're interested in multiples, feel free to shoot me an offer.

    Thanks for looking!

Just taking a closer look at your book, I don't think 9.8 may be possible with the top left corner (although there are plenty more members with more expertise than me can maybe tell you), do you have the grader notes?

I agree with you about 9.8... I think this isn't going past 9.6...

    Grader's Notes:

very light spine stress lines breaks color
very light wear top of front cover breaks color
very light, multiple wear all corners front cover breaks color

I think the Disney show is going to be the new crappier Werewolf, and I think it will be real collectors going after it anyhow.

Might be worth CPR though, if it comes back a 9.8, you can buy a couple of Lotus's, I would rather have the book though. 9_9

I would rather not have sold my super-minty Beta Lotus for $500 back in '02 ;)

Judging by latest Heritage results, I would try them and I do not think the price was a fluke, such a tough book in that grade.

Barton (Ghost town) has since turned his 9.6 into a 9.8, god only knows what that would go for if it ever goes to market.

oh damn.  I kept meaning to look at the census to see if a 9.8 ever popped up but kept getting sidetracked!  That's the mark I really want to see...

And, seemingly, if 9.8's are showing up, maybe now's the time to drop the 9.6.  Just asked my Marvel MCU friends though, and no one knows this character... so maybe still room to grow!  Anyone wanna trade me a Lotus for it? :)

  5. Alright, gentlemen (I'm assuming)... The last sale of this somehow fetched $14k...

I've decided to try and get back into M:TG... replacing all my old Beta power is way out of the question, but it looks like HP UL Lotus's are going for just about this 14k mark...

Is now the time to try and move this or wait until closer to the Disney+ Halloween special?

Was that $14k sale just a fluke?

.....and this one arrived today. 2 for 2

Newton rings a little annoying (not shown) but didn't get it for resale. Just wanted a representative Stan SS for the DD collection and was a good price.

That's really cool... This is one of the earliest covers that I kind of hated (DD or otherwise) when I started trying to get a DD run back in the mid-90's... but I've definitely come around to it and kind of dig it now. I also really like that sig placement.  It almost kind of disappears or fades out just like DD kind of is on the cover.  Very very nice.  Congrats! :)

He was a standard mercenary type who tried to be funny early on but the humour never landed. I would say Joe Kelly really took him that extra step, making him actually funny and from there, people really amped it up. To the point of beyond silly at times but hey, the fans seem to like it. While Deadpool visually is a neat character, he has never been interesting enough for me to say I love him.

All I remember is him mailing Toliver's head back...? Or maybe they mailed his head back to Toliver?  Actually, I guess I don't remember anything except someone mailing a head to someone else and someone named Toliver. Although it was probably spelled Tolliver.  But mostly I just wanted to bump this thread because it is fun.

  8. You had me at "stop." There are just too freaking many at $4 or $5 a pop... even if you're getting 50% off via pre-orders. I keep trying to stretch back out and follow Spidey or the X-Men... and wish I could follow the whole universe again, but it's too expensive! And it's too "corporate."

I love that they will publish so many books which means more artists get a chance to shine, but so much feels so reined in now from a story standpoint. And way too interconnected. I used to love the occasional crossover... and still do follow the "events," but I was trying to get into Hickman's X-Men after years away... just as I was getting comfortable, along comes X of Swords... which was fine, I guess, but it was super convoluted and included sooo many books. I dropped X-Men from my pull list.

One thing that would make me buy more comics not in my wheelhouse? Put them back in grocery stores for $1 - $2... I would buy so much random stuff if it was just sitting there for a buck or so... even reprints... make them not collectible somehow...?

Comics just need to be in places that aren't just comics stores. And they need to cost less than lunch.
