  1. Ok newsstand fans, anyone have a good idea for a Xmas contest?
  2. I pulled my interest because I didn’t want to deal with them and decided to wait out and see if newsstands ever “caught on” Turned out to be an excellent decision
  3. I think you're jumping to conclusions as the beginning of my exchange with them was them trying to buy them all cheap. It didnt link up with the attached emails that werent for me. You ever try to buy something and try to convince the person its not worth as much as it is?
  4. When I saw what they charge I tried to bulk out to them. they told me that most of the time dealers just give them to them or sell for pennies cause they don’t want to deal with them. granted they also still had their internal emails on the chains with “newsstands?!!!” And “you guys need to get a look at these” and other comments that ran contrary to their email to me
  5. I kid, I kid i was thinking of trying a Facebook auction just to see, where everyone is always arguing about newsstands in the groups
  6. Question for the ebay/mercari and various other app hunters I'm currently moving in to my new filing cabinets and trying to get organized and am going to start posting a few of the extra 2k or so post 2010 newsstands. Seems like some folks grab whatever they can, some are grabbing series etc. You guys think small runs of these would be the way to go? Curious how most of you collect, not how ebay etc works. Yes I know max dollar is individually listing every issue, but not totally what I'm concerned with, nor in this case am I completely convinced that would necessarily be the case.
  7. Thanks, I’ve been looking for a nice copy, so total bonus I get one I can share here
  8. Picked up a newsstand today, first purchase of a newsstand that it was acknowledged it was a newsstand
  9. That is a SOLID pair of newsies right there, nice finds
  10. Yup, from me. That was my introduction to this cast of characters.
  11. New 52 started in 2011 and by that point shouldve just been B&N and BAM. I know a lot of keys tended to fly off the shelf at newsstands, but I would imagine at that point a specific trip to those spots over the LCS wasn't a priority. Doesn't seem many cared around that time about newsstands as a thing.
  12. I have a ton of Deadpool but couldn’t find an annual 😔 for good measure though here’s a better spiderman *badoomboomtss*
  13. 3 weeks and a ton of short boxes later I finally found the damn things
  14. Woodford Wheated and the Jeffersons Aged at Sea. Sounds like a silly gimmick but that Jeffersons is good.
  15. Ehhh I wouldn't ask me cause I don't think you'll get the kind of back up you want. My big score all came from the same place, it wasn't a warehouse find, it was multiple B&N's trash. Lets be clear, NO ONE knows the numbers. HOWEVER, some of us probably have put way too much time in to this than they would like to admit. Where B&N was an account of mine when I first found most of mine, I like to look post 2010 cause it is the easiest to really get a grasp on. At the height of B&N and BAM there was a combined 980 stores. They didn't take in all titles and at some point the went SBT(no one seems to remember an exact date, cause well, they don't care) so they weren't responsible for them, didn't always put them out, and trashed them. Regardless, if you assume stores got somewhere between 3 and 5 of a copy (again an assumption but a very researched assumption) it is not entirely unreasonable to look at a print run of 3-5k on a newsstand issue post 2010, and that being the top of the mark. With that said, it is like 430 in the morning and I had a couple bourbons while packaging up like 70 books for CGC, so I will read this tomorrow and see if ti made sense.
  16. Loved this Fraction run. So happy it looks like pizza dog is crashing the show.
  17. Talking Spidey newsstands here’s a fun one. until you open it then there’s no telling it’s a newsstand
  18. Nah not on a book like this, but a good example/question. mainly trying to build my knowledge base. I find the criteria is a good start, but input from others experience can really help hone my screening ability. Color rub and the like doesn’t ever seem to have a clear cut answer
  19. Appreciate, looked to me like it got pulled through the press, thanks for the input
  20. I know color rub supposedly gets hit hard, but does anyone have any insight on something like this? Doesn’t seem like “color rub” and more than one looked like this. Think it was during manufacturing, but obviously not wide spread enough to be a “known issue”. Thanks in advance for any input.
  21. Have a ton through the 640s to about 675, couple in the 80s and 90s and a pile of 700, but no 694
  22. We need more people like him! mainly so I can unload a box or two and move around my basement a bit easier
