  1. 9.0-9.2 IMO. But I'm having trouble zooming in.. so maybe I'm missing something
  2. I'd say 3.5... maybe a 4.0 if the spine is secure (not split). I'm wondering if that bottom left of the back cover can be cleaned..?
  3. Well, it's on its way to CGC.. I personally am hoping for 3.0-3.5 range, will be very surprised if it's higher, and very disappointed if it drops below a 2.5. haha.. will find out next month and post the results!
  4. I purchased this book off of a FB group the other day, advertised as a 4.5-5.0... just got it in today, and I think that estimate is rather off. Not mad tho, grading is subjective, and even if it comes back at half that grade, I'll still make a hefty profit should I ever decide to sale (not planning on it).. but just curious what you all think for the grade. Inside pages don't have any major tears/flaws and a off-white/creamy color, book is complete. I am planning on having it cleaned, pressed and slabbed..
  5. That's a tough one... my heart would've said Cap, but my head would've said Bats...
  6. Yeah this was a Russia ebay account with 9 feedback on it for small stuff... also "sold" an AF 15, ASM 1 and a couple other books shortly after this... but no negative feedback on the account yet from these sales, so... too early to officially call it fake, haha...
  7. Was about to post the same thing, lol... on the flip side of the coin I just bought a very well priced one only because the ebay/internet sales tax goes into effect Jan 1st in my state and I wanted to get one back in my safe before that happened, saved me an extra 5-700$... perfect time to buy in the pre-holiday lull
  8. I got out of the club a few months back when I sold my 9.4 and 9.0.... Well... last week after a few too many beers I got on ebay and found this very well priced beauty, and my sober inner-conscience lost the battle... so I'm back in the club! No regrets.... altho… had I known what a tragic weekend it was going to be, I'd have picked up that ASM 4.0 SS Stan Lee for 2k more... ah well, no regrets and RIP Stan!
  9. Finally decided to take a picture of my ASM collection since I'm considering selling it.. It's nearly a full run from 25 to 800 (minus 3-4 issues). My goal was to get 1-100 + keys in slabs.. but honestly just don't think I'll ever get there, haha.. This isn't a sales thread, just showing what I got... and asking for advice.. what do you all feel would be the best way to sell this off... individually by slabs and breaking the raws up into lots, or do you think there is a market for the full run?
  10. would be nice if Web of Spider-Man 18 was listed as the first appearance of Eddie Brock (later becomes venom), or something along those lines?.. this is a couple of years before Amazing Spider-Man 298.
  11. Great first pick up! I always liked this story of the fight between Peter and Flash.... not a big fan of the second story in here where Spidey crashes the Human Torch's party, lol.. too much of an emo teen, but I guess that's what Spidey was in those early issues
  12. So I bought a slab off ebay a few years ago, and the guy sent this and a few other books with it as "freebies".. didn't really think much of it at the time other than it being a cool gesture to send a low grade key and not just moderns from the dollar bin. But pulled it out recently and it looks better than I remember, lol... while obviously not high grade, I'm wondering what you all think, and whether or not I'll get it slabbed... Obviously some spine damage as shown in the pics, there's about a 1/2" tear at the top middle of the back cover that is also on the last page in the book... no other damage noted within the book itself and it's complete.
  13. The Wolverine series was such a bore, I hate to say it b/c I love the character.. I just don't think he was much of a solo character at that point, just a supporting x-man.. it took the cartoon in the early 90's to make him a 'main stream' badass... GREAT cartoon BTW, drastic improvement to my Saturday mornings!
  14. I'm skeptical on that latest $9500 sale... was a BIN with like 2 minutes left on the timer when it was bought... but will wait and see if it's relisted before jumping to conclusions... Just.. skeptical, ebay does that to me
  15. only 37 more issues to go to finish a complete a 1 to present-day run.... unfortunately, about 10 are in that super-expensive area.. (aside from variant covers tho.. while I'll pick some up here and there that are very eye-appealing, I'm kinda not digging this new variant business model)
  16. I'm a big believer in holding out for the perfect book, lol... if neither book is going to give that 100% satisfied feeling, then keep shopping around, one will eventually pop up that is very presentable and has higher page quality. but if it's a MUST purchase right now...and you're planning on keeping it slabbed, I'd go with the more presentable of the two. IMO, a slab that presents better (less damage, better wrap, etc) is the better option and will be more "in demand" should you sell down the road... but if you're just going to crack it open and read it, yeah, might wanna go with the other one
  17. I recently saw a married cover AF15 on eBay with a blue label that said 'conservation' or something along those lines... probably a good in-between of a universal and restored label. Either way I'd love to get my hands on a copy anywhere near this nice, lol... my budget might get me a coverless one couldn't find the eBay link, but here it is in the census.. https://www.cgccomics.com/grading/verify-cgc-comic.aspx?cgc-comic-cert=1294639001&grader-notes=yes
  18. Finally back in the 129 club after a foolish decision with my 9.4 a few years ago.... but I feel like I hit the eBay lottery with this copy. Great price, and presents so well, beautiful colors and perfectly wrapped/centered. I have 9.2s and 9.4s with more flaws. Does the date stamp by punishers head really drop the grade that much?!
  19. Hey, I just moved to the Seattle/Tacoma area a couple of months ago and am looking for recommendations for local comic shops. Preferably one that has large volumes of back issues in silver/bronze/copper eras, and assorted (preferably graded, but not required) keys. Seems like every one I've gone to so far is simply moderns from the last couple of years. I know I can get what I'm looking for online, but I always preferred buying them in person. Any suggestions for this area? I don't mind driving well out of the way for a quality store!
  20. I'll be ok if I never have one in my safe again, plenty of other decent keys in there, lol. I just don't think the sudden 2018 doubling/tripling in price (not just in 181's, but in many keys) is sustainable. Bound to be a correction, add that to the fact that people are willing to spend many times more than a book is worth simply because there is an appearance of a booming economy.. well, just putting my bet on a big reversal in the economy and in these prices in the coming years. Who knows..
  21. It was an auction. I was looking at one on their inventory list too, but it sold a couple days before this auction ended, so had to fork over a tad extra, no regrets!
  22. Got this one off Pedigree last month, wish I'd bought it 25 years ago when I first started collecting
