  1. Issue 25 was amazing. I'm interested to see how that ties into the whole Marvel universe going forward.
  2. King said it's limited so I'll take his word for it. Anything could happen though the way DC are right now. I got quite a few of the Action Comics 1000 cover but that's because I love ACs and wanted to slab them. All that needs to happen with these new characters is for them to be taken on by a writer to do them justice (not Bendis) or a film/TV show to use them correctly. I brought Clone Wars 1-12 for about £45 quid from eBay just for the Ashoka Tano first appearance just before Xmas. A few months later I sold #1 on it's own for £220 because she's was being used well in the Clone Wars series and going to be in The Mandalorian season 2. I think it's alright to get a copy of two of a first appearance for a big property like Star Wars , Batman, Superman, X-Men etc. I just wouldn't buy tons of them as they're likely to be long long term holds.
  3. Nah. Once King left that was the end of that particular story arc on Batman. The rest of the arc will be picked up in a Batman/Catwoman spin off to complete their story. After Tynion took over it's been back to pure action but as 'Followtheleader' said above, they are introducing new characters all the time. This is all build up to the Joker War which is the next big Batman arc.
  4. I hadn't picked up a Marvel book for a while but when Donny Cates took over Venom I thought I'd give it a go. It was and still is great. Absolute Carnage was good too. Immortal Hulk is another level though. Been a while since I awaited the next issue as much as this. Cates has taken over Thor now and has started strong. House and Powers of X by Hickman was great. The comics that have come of the back of them have been a bit hit and miss but X-Force always delivers for me. I was one of the few who didn't mind Tom King's run on Batman but Tynion has turned it up a notch and it's back to being one of DC's best books again. I still love TEC. I also liked Doomsday Clock and Superman Up in The Sky. I'd stay away from Superman and Action comics right now though. Bendis has turned that into absolute trash with his Leviathan nonsense nobody asked for. If you want a good modern recent Supes then I suggest reading the rebirth Action comics. That shows how Superman should be. Also the Rebirth Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corp.
  5. I had the same thing on my Gold Spawn 300. I brought it off eBay but it came with a nick on the bottom of the spine. I send it in to the McFarlane signing anyway as I wanted it signed and wasn't bothered about the grade. Came back at 9.8. I couldn't believe it when I picked it up from CGC in London.
  6. I love that Spidy cover. Shipping to the UK is a bloody killer though. It's pretty much more than the actual book.
  7. Thanks. I found it on the sales board here actually. I brought it from BatmanRiddlez. One of the pride and joys of my collection along with an Artgerm SS Supergirl sketch on a blank cover variant.
  8. His WW 750 virgin variant is only one of three that I've got on order of that issue, the others being Ross Virgin and Nicola Scott covers. I've got Hughes' Super-girl and the Legion of Superheroes but I had to get Anacleto's DCeased #2 Homage. They go nicely together.
  9. I got super super lucky at the shop near my work. I went in looking for something else then noticed that they had the variants for Star Wars #1. Apart from the one with Vader on the cover which was £8 all the rest were £4:50. Nice start to 2020 The Absolute Carnage I picked up from Forbidden Planet on my way home.
  10. @showcase4 Got these two back yesterday. Only ordered two from the bay and both came back 9.8.
  11. Injustice is great but kinda loses it way a bot with the Harley stuff. It's still pretty great though
  12. The prices on that 'Marvel celebrates Stan Lee' book just keep rising! Hitting $900 after 3 weeks. Anyone see the prices dropping on this one, like that Spider-Gwen variant? If this is truly as rare as it seems I'd love to see the prices on a graded copy.
  13. It's one of my favourite symbiote covers. This and my 9.8 Artgerm Virgin for Absolute Carnage #1 are incredible.
  14. Thanks for all your advice guys. Kav, you have incredible eyes!!!!! I honestly didn't see this before of after it was slabbed. I'll keep it as is. I love this cover so it'll stay in my collection. I was hoping for a higher grade but it was not meant to be. Ah well, thanks again.
  15. So, yes this is one of those 'I'm not sure I agree on the grade' posts so apologies for that but I'm just looking for an opinion if you guys can see something I cant. Wanted to get this slabbed as I thought it would get a pretty high grade, 9.6 at the least. Inspected it before I dropped it off. All seemed good. Picked it up and it's come back as a 9.4 and the Graders notes say that there is a 'bend right bottom front cover' For the life of me I cant see it and didn't see it when it was raw and in my hands. What do you guys think? Worth querying?
  16. I snipe the hell out of auctions because of shill bidding. I've had it too many times in the past where I've bid and the seller has clearly got they're friend/family member/girlfriend/boyfriend to outbid me and drive the price up. That said I always stick to my the limit I set myself and never spend more than I need to win or lose. Last second bids are the way forward.
  17. I'd also like to know how much leeway is given to vertical spine colour breaks too. I want to get some of my HOX, POX and Absolute Carnage books graded but the color breaks seem to be getting worse with hardly books from these that don't have some kind of break in them. Would this be considered a manufacturing defect if most of the run had them and thus likely to get a more lenient grade?

    UK CGC?

I dropped off some books with them last month and the experience was good. It's so much better than just mailing them in myself and I got to ask questions which will help me in the future. I will add that the place is a little difficult to find but once there it's a breeze.
  19. Hahaha. I wish I was paid by them because I pick up a fair few books and some CGC's from them, I know how it sounds but I'm just trying to give people my experience of them. You can take it any way you want to
  20. Sadlemon is a solid comic retailer for us in the UK. They've never let me down and I've always got my books in great shape (and no, I do not work or them or are related to any of them ).
  21. True, but I'd say there's a parallel with it in the fact it never got second print run, the collected edition coming out will be censored and all digital copies then were censored.
  22. HOX and POX issue 2 has got me super excited for where these are going. I dropped out of reading X-men a while back and didn't read much Marvel when Rebirth started over at DC. However, these, Venom and the Immortal Hulk are way better than the DC stuff at the minute. I pre-ordered the HOX2 Larraz Virgin variant as I liked the cover and it was something like £20. I'm so glad I did now! Hickman has turned one of the most annoying (for me at least) characters in X-men lore into one of the most important. POX 2 has got me super excited to see what they do with - Hickman and Cates are killing it at Marvel. Redefining characters and sticking true to what's gone before. Unlike Bendis at DC.
  23. Recalls are always hard to gauge. Some keep their value whilst others, like the Luthor cover tank. I think these might do well as they have Superman and Supergirl on the cover (I'm a big Supergirl fan so I know I'd pony up for a recalled Supergirl issue). Batman Damned has held a pretty decent value so I can see this doing the same. I managed to get these at a decent price before they shot up so I'm hoping they come in decent enough shape to get slabbed and go in the collection.
