Hey guys, Gemini comic supply the maker of the popular Gemini mailers won't ship to Canada except through eBay at an astonomical price. So my question : Is there an alternative mailer you use (ex. Uline) that fits and protects well about 10-12 comics just like a Gemini mailer ? Thanks !

Sh*t Outta Luck ? So you declare 25K on H181 you think is 9.6 and it turns out to be 9.2 at 10k you pay 3% of 25K ?

Would you recommend by phone or byemail. I ask because the phone customer service maybe won't know ?

Hi. I did a CPR on an ASM #50 8.5 W hoping to get an 9.0 W. This backfired and I got an 8.5 OW/W. I know it was gamble. Given white pages are a premium on silver age books, I'm tempted to resubmit and maybe get a 8.5 W back. Q. Is there any way to contest not a grade but page quality going down on a book (I still have the original label and pic of the book before) ? I'm assuming not possible. I figure a screening at ccs would not help either since that is just for Pressing purposes. This happened to me on two huge keys also. The grade went way up but the page quality went from W to OW/W. For those I won't risk resubmiting them just frustrating haha

I'm not sure about how CGC will bill me if I overevaluate a comic book I sent using WalkThrough. For example I think the comic which is a silver age big key is a 8.0 valued at US 10 000 (info for the submission given to CGC). It turns out to be a 6.5 at US 4 000 FMV. Q. Will CGC charge me 3% of my evaluation (10K) or of the FMV (4K) they give to the comic ? Thanks

Exactly, grade the same I say. I got the ink smear grader, must be new (or cgc has changed the way they see this defect) because in the past graders always to my knowledge treated this like a production defect when grading the book and did not down grade because of it. I found this useful post while searching for information on the defect :

QC really worse than it has always been ? You would think on a big book like this 3 pairs of eyes would see the book. That's what CGC says in any regard. I would think at least an experienced grader would grade the walkthrough books...

I have gotten another grail book 9.8 with grader notes. I was shocked too !!!

I think the value between 9.0 and 9.2 might not warrant the risk and cost. If you do send it always take many pics of the book (all angles) before sending it to prove any damage CGC might inflict to your book.

Maybe 9.6 haha

The 9.8 W above was graded 02/28/2022 so about 10 months ago. I will carefully keep track of recent sales and see if any recently (last 3 months lets say) graded 9.8s with the same defect show up...

Just got back my copy Hulk 181 it hit 9.4 CGC again. It was a CGC 9.4 initially so I was hoping for at least 9.6 after CPR. Grader notes before CPR : - very light spine stress lines to cover - very small, multiple bend right top of back cover Grader notes after CPR : - multiple ink smear front cover (see pic) I checked other books with similar grader notes and they got 9.8 (see pics) I'm thinking of resubmiting again about US 450 + shipping... intially. Has anyone experienced this on this book for this defect ? I think I got hit harshly.... Thoughts ?

Interesting. My books are scheduled for grading but my credit card hasn't been charged ! I never heard of getting your books with an invoice. Is this anew thing at CGC ?

Hi there, What does Scheduled for grading actually mean in the whole submission process ? 1. Are my books going to be graded soon ? 2. Does that mean my credit card was charged ? 3. Does CGC let me know when they are being shipped out ? Thanks, I know newbie question LOL

Actually the seller was holding the books past the 180 days so I couldn't give bad feedback or be reimbursed

It's been over 180 days so I can't do squat on ebay or Paypal. Only recourse is my credit card company. I heard they no longer operate on ebay, but are still in business some other way Facebook, IG...

So I pre-ordered ASM 55 in 9.8 (2 copies) from Hotshot Comics on eBay and they sent me 9.6s and won't reply to my messages !!! I posted elsewhere and several other buyers got scammed from this seller. Please share your experience here. Buyer beware

So my comics have a status of Scheduled for grading since the 18th of June. Any idea when CGC will bill my credit card ? Do they grade and after charge my credit card or the contrary ? Once graded and paid, how long roughly until they ship ? Thanks

Good move to press it after its Signed. If the book was mishandled it might press out pressable defects. I had the books pressed before the signing and yup they got damned now I got a bunch of 9.6s. Not bad but when you think they were 9.8s before sending them in and now have damned corners you think the blue label would have been good enough.

Yeah basically CGC told me I assumed the risk when sending even if they mess up in handling the books... I won't submitting for signings anymore. Expense and too darn risky. A blue label 9.8 TMNT Adventures #1 is way better than a signed 9.6...

Tell me about it... I got my books faster perhaps but damaged. Hope yours come back safely (pray)
