  1. It is oil on canvas and HUGE, over three feet tall. That's the beauty of some of these paintings. They are big and powerful in person. Getting another Jones in soon that is almost 4' long! S
  2. Well, I finally got around to photographing this beauty. From the classic 1998 Edgar Rice Burroughs Calendar comes one of Jones' most famous paintings. An inconic image of Tarzan used as the frontispiece. Enjoy:
  3. Jeff I'll let you have the 105 cover if you let me have the 105 splash (and I haven't been able to track that down either!!) S
  4. Kevin Quite a few pieces of art on your list exists but are buried deep in personal collections S
  5. Yes. I was too cheap to pay $800 for a splash page! Aaarrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. My very first piece of original art that I owned. Sold it to pay for school and have regretted it ever since (and have had no leads to its whereabouts)
  7. OK, who has an extra copy of the catalog they are willing to sell me?
  8. While we are waiting for the BZ quiz, I figured I would add to the wonderful EC books that he posted:
  9. I know this has been mentioned before but this should really be linked on the OA boards, amazing stuff! Any Johnny Comet dailies or Sundays?
  10. Also no time payments. I think the big dogs will go after the splash and we could see a high price for that page.
  11. I am more familiar with the scenario where the entire book gets sold if it hits a reserve. If not, then the pages get sold individually. My sense is the book will be broken up.
  12. I would say 5-7K each Gene. It is going to be an interesting auction. First lot will be the entire book. Then that winning bid goes head to head with the combined total of the individual pages when auctioned separately.
  13. Great point Gene. I do believe Ditko was planning on doing some legal muscle flexing when the ASM 10 book went up. Would not surprise me to see the sale pulled. The story was peddled to a few individuals over the past six months and I am assuming no one bit, hence the Mastro auction. Wonder if Heritage was approached by the consigner and they passed?
  14. Wouldn't be surprised to see Heritage buy the story and parcel it out over time.
  15. I agree. Big problem is that Mastro does not offer time payments. Winner needs to poney up quickly. That's a lot of loose change under the couch cushions.
  16. Managed to avoid the Heritage feeding frenzy over Frankenstein plates and picked this one up this past week.
