  1. I haven’t posted here in some time, but I have plenty of references, and you can check my ebay id jgallo for perfect feedback.  Here is an assortment of Archive editions, hardcover books, Reprint trades and replated books.  Ideally, I would prefer to sell in groups to keep shipping cost down, but will ship as cheaply as possible, but keep in mind many of these are heavy so there might not be too much I can do on the shipping side.  Figure shipping at $8 per item, with combined shipping at cost.  Most are new and unread, some of the older books have damage to the dust jackets but that should be visible in the pictures.  Any questions LMK  Thanks

  2. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what this piece might be or who drew it.  There is a signature and the year 83  in the middle over the Klingon's shoulder.  I have no other history.  Its on 11x17 comic board and certainly looks like a finished piece for print.  Thanks in advance.

I doubt a complete coverless would go for $20K, likely half that.

The last one on CC didnt even hit 10k so i think more in the 10-15k range.  That being said the buy in for any complete copy does seem to be around the 40-50k range regardless of condition or restoration.

I used to own that Tec 29 3.5 before and it had that tape already before it was resubmitted after a spine roll press.  I believe it was after the announcement of the new tape rule by CGC.  So it is technically still a 3.5.

Book is listed as being graded on 7/12/13 two months after the tape rule change, so perhaps not.  I just don't know if that would have gotten through had the book been sent to CCS for the spine roll issue (shrug)

Seems like tape on these Tecs doesn't slow them like it did in past. The 29 in 3.5, 35 in 5.5 & 37 in 3.5 all had tape and went strong. I was watching the #29 3.5 with tape as it's practically identical to mine I bought in Dec 2016. This 3.5 sold for $17K more than I paid.

Problem is IMO that the tape on this book likely reattached the centerfold and or the cover...  I didn't check the grade date but that is my gut.  So not a true 3.5 today ...

What’s the point of insurance value at 4x FMV?  Don’t you pay 4x premium?  From a pure risk standpoint, Insurance always favors the issuer (that’s how they make billions in profit).

Actually insurance is generally above market value on most things, especially one of a kind items.

???  I don't get this.  How were messages intended to steal the art?  Did they ask you to agree to ship it to them after they only put an installment payment on it and they would pay the rest over time?

Do I really need to spell out what stealing the art means???  Getting it at such a discounted price that it would be way under market.  That is what I mean by stealing the art.

  10. So a few things, I had a 35K offer on the Spidey Annual page and passed on the time, so the listed price it based on that offer.  This has Romita layouts for sure and is listed as such pretty much everywhere.  Heck was the primary as he was doing the Avengers at the time and the page is very avengers heavy.

Originally I was looking for insurance values but something came up and I needed to sell a few of the pages.

Ironically the Hulk page only sold for 1600 in the last comic link auction so it seems either everyone was off greatly or everyone missed it who knows.

If anyone seeing this thread had serious interest they could contact me with ease.  The few messages I got were IMO from people looking to steal the art or were asking from curiosity sake alone.

Again when I originally made this post my intent was not to sell any of all of these pages.  Once a major purchase I made is paid of the pages will be staying in my collection.

Maybe there's well over a hundred thousand different reasons to flip this one so quickly.   :D

After all, if a CGC 3.0 graded copy could fetch $66K in the CC auction last March, imagine how much a unrestored blue label 5.0 graded copy might fetch in today's hyper drive marketplace.  :flipbait:

Well one would think as a national dealer that you would want to bring such a book to the market yourself and not want to give a cut to Heritage.  I know when I get big books I like to sell them myself so that it bring attention to my other inventory,

I actually hate to see names removed from covers.  Admittedly the appearance is improved, but you lose the provenance of the book.  It's kind of neat that decades ago a girl bought this book off the stands and wrote her name on it.  Before the Larson pedigree was a big deal, some collectors/dealers had his signature removed from some books.  Who know, maybe some day we'll find a big stash of Barbara's other books.

There was no reason to keep this name but I was concerned it would not come off clean even though it was pencil.  I wonder if it is more visible in person then in the scans.  I thought once it was cleaned up it would be a 4/4.5 I thought 5 was  on the high side, I believe I think the dealer was thinking maybe even a 5.5.  I don't think I would flip this so quickly...
