When was that supposed to be--the past, or the future?  If it's the past where they were working on perfecting the technique of uploading a human consciousness into a host body, then Dolores isn't "woke" yet and she's just working on Bernard at probably Ford's direction.  But if it's the future, what the heck is she trying to do?  Is Bernard supposed to be Arnold v1.0 that doesn't work right in some more functional yet similar state to the way the James Delos copy didn't work, and she's working on Arnold v2.0 that hopefully works in some future where presumably she came out on top?  And if so, why?  Because he's her creator, I suppose, who seemed to sacrifice himself for her in season one?  Or is it something else?

We do know that the Dolores we see talking to Bernard is NOT Arnold pretending to be Dolores. Someone just asked Evan Rachel Wood on twitter and she said NOPE.

Like you said, the interaction between Dolores and Bernard/Arnold all depends on when in time it is happening.  Of course, some people are speculating that Arnold was always a host an never human, and was created by Ford to figure out the whole dump someone's consciousness into a host body.

    (My head hurts)

No interest in how Maeve has suddenly gone all Neo from the Matrix and is able to control all the other androids around her?  That's one of the cooler developments of the season for me.

I also enjoyed Dolores giving Teddy the night of his life before she decided to effectively wipe out his entire personality afterwards.  COLD!

I also enjoyed Shogun World more than I thought I would, and since that was almost the entire episode, I enjoyed the entire episode.

I need to re-watch the first scene of the episode again where they discovered there were a bunch of "empty vessel" hosts.  You would assume those were meant to contain the personas of real people, but I'm not sure if the scene revealed anything about who exactly was meant to be uploaded to the bodies.  Maybe it did and I missed it.  I also missed that apparently Teddy was one of the dead bodies on that table, which I suppose isn't a surprise since he appeared dead and floating in the water in the first episode of the season.

The whole Maeve/Neo thing is bizarre to me. It's like a huge jump in character.

Dolores turning Teddy into a psycho (on reddit that have a post showing how his stats changed) is interesting after the good guy finally gets the girl.

In the beginning, Craddick is doing a voice over as the camera pans and zooms around Bernard/Arnold. What he says is very peculiar.

What would ever motivate Ford to devote a huge chunk of his life to creating some limited form of redemption for William?  ???

If anything, Ford is using William to help him stop Delos.

Anyone else's brain hurt trying to figure out the Bernard timelines/scars/bandage/head bruise?

It's certainly Arnold's body, so I've been assuming it's some variant of Arnold's consciousness, too, although clearly it isn't straight up Arnold.  It seems like some Ford-altered version of Arnold.

I agree. Has to be Arnold (some people are speculating it's Young William and that is what the MIB is going to get when finds the Door). Basically, they are saying the MIB has been a host for some time. I love reading these theories.

That theory is viable but extremely complex...very little of "I killed them" implies Teddy, it's that coupled with half a dozen other tiny difficult-to-notice-on-a-single-viewing side elements leading people to that idea.  Having heard the hypothesis you're referring to on The Ringer's "Westworld: The Recappables" podcast, I'm guessing the guy who came up with it watched the first episode many times before he came to that idea

I completely agree with you. Especially after watching this last episode. I kinda think it's just a clone of Bernard.  One of the other things took for with Bernard is the scar on his right temple after shooting himself in S1.  That helps to separate the timelines. Unless its the clone theory. Ugh. Brain hurt!

Not that I thought it was ever in doubt, but it was confirmed HBO signed on for a 3rd season of Westworld. Some random thoughts..... I would have never guessed that was Floki in the first episode. He’s a great actor, just like his dad. I also think there is a good chance the scene in the first episode where it shows all the drowned hosts and Bernard saying “I killed them” might end up being the final scene of this season. I also hope we end up seeing Armacist again but it isn’t looking like it. Bernard had asked Ford, after finding out he was a host, why he would burden him with having to deal with the death of a child but it now looks like Arnold did have to deal with the death of Charlie.

There are some theories on Reddit that Teddy gets uploaded into Bernard's body (which is what we are seeing when he said, "I killed them")

Yep, good thought on the timeline...but the whole movie may not be set in the 90's. I just get the sense that they HAVE to bring Warlock in! And the only movie that makes sense between now and IW2 is Captain Marvel...cosmic and all. Heck, maybe they're saving Warlock for Phase 4 though, but that completely botches a HUGE part of this story-line for IW2.

Personally, I want Phase 4 to have a few Annihilation movies with Drax finally getting what he ultimately wants...

Didn't someone post here (or maybe I saw it someplace else) that Feige said he doesn't plan on introducing Adam Warlock until GoTG 3 (and that wasn't set in stone)

Extremely slow episode compared to the first one.  I didn't notice any big reveals, just development of plotlines begun last episode.

It was just fun to see how Delos got involved by revealing the hosts during the party/pitch.  And that we know Delos got involved because of the information that could collect on the guests. (Cue Facebook).  I liked how they surprised us with a cameo from Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad fame. I agree, not much going on that last episode.

How can William be dead? He is the Man in Black. Look closely and you’ll see him in that last trailer posted.

Sorry, I was just responding about Hopkins not coming back. Yes Young William and Logan are back. Along with Elsie and Stubbs.

Never saw that last trailer posted. Looks like young William might still be around. :wishluck:

He's dead. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said Hopkins was not part of season 2. But we'll see the CGI Young Robert Ford.

This and Handmaid's tale are the 2 shows i can't wait for.

A slow build for the season until about episode 5, watched it twice, once in a binge while I was home sick.  And a second viewing with my wife.  the 2nd viewing was better, as I felt like I was looking for flaws and mistakes, but wound up being more impressed with all the details they put into the show.  It's one of the best crafted shows I've seen in a long time.  It feels like I'm watching lost again, except this time, they have (I HOPE) a better plan, and will give payoffs.

The producers and actors have said there are hints to season 2's story lurking in the first episode. So Ive been rewatching like crazy

  12. There's a comic based on the show, so I can post! Woohoo!

I'm in charge of the BeyondWestworld.com site over at FanSided. I'll be posting some of my articles here to keep you updated. Of course, you can post information as well!

So far, all we know, is that the show will premiere in the Spring. Some are speculating April.

Three episodes in and it's....a mixed bag. Jon Bernthal is great, but the show really suffers when he is not onscreen. There isn't a single supporting cast member that's even mildly interesting to me. They aren't particularly well-acted or scripted, and scenes without Frank just feel like filler.

Hopefully that changes, but I have a feeling like this show will suffer from the same bloated run-time problems that plague the rest of the Marvel Netflix output.

Just wait. The charater(s) development will build up
