  1. Just bought off the boards and paid as much as a new car engine (which I know is the case 'cause I had to get one for my crappy 6 YO Hyundai Sonata...Anyway the seller points out the chunk in the top left which carries around to the back cover, could put this between a 3.5 down to a 2.5. I may try a clean on this and perhaps a light press as there is some waviness and though no significant water damage there is some light staining. Thoughts on this classic? Thank you!
  2. I just want to post this to get some opinions. Visually looks like a Good to VG. However if you look at DD's crotch there is a puncture that went straight through the entire issue to the back cover. I did tape the inside front cover with mending tape which blends pretty good. All the other pages I was able to press back into place so it reads well! Anyway just interested to hear your thoughts. My opinion is FR 2.0? Thanks for your time!
  3. Pretty nice visual copy. Spine is a little rough and staples hold but aren't the greatest. Other than that it looks good. Thoughts on grade? Thanks all!
  4. Take Avengers 54 at $35 and 75 at $15. If RDP doesn't want 71 I'll take that too. Thanks!
  5. Lot's of spine tics and a small chip out of bottom right cover but otherwise looks nice! Your opinions please?
  6. As the title says this was folded back in the day and put in a mailer. I worked on it for a few weeks to clean and press it and it is a flat as it'll ever be! Take a peek and let me know your thoughts! Thanks gang!
  7. Happy New year to everyone. Pretty nice book. Small piece of mending tissue tape inside back cover at fishing ad. Thoughts on condition?
  8. This came up on another forum so I thought I'd post an example here. Book is in pretty good shape. Has sub fold on front and back cover however. I've pressed it as many times as I'm comfortable with and don't believe additional pressing will do anything more. Thoughts on the grade? Thanks!
  9. This one looks really nice. Great whites and colors. White pages. Appreciate your insights.
  10. Not too bad on this one. Half inch corner chip bottom right front and back. Some spine sticks. Staining on back that cannot be removed any further. Off white pages. Thoughts on this one?
  11. OK well I got this book and it was in rough shape. Completely detached cover, staining and multiple tears on spine. Was able to find another identical back cover but could not get the white paper color to quite match on the piece missing even after several baths but had to use it to re-attach the cover. It now holds together really nicely and with a clean and press I think it looks pretty good. Not sure if this is conservation or restoration at this point so thought I'd throw it to the pros on the board for your opinions. Thanks much!
  12. This is a great cover! I don't see a lot wrong with this book. Shows really nicely. Appreciate your expertise!
  13. It has been a while but glad to be back. Lots of wear but it shows well. Book was cleaned and pressed to maximize its appeal. Appreciate your comments!
  14. Nice Marvel Spotlight 28. Well packed and shipped quickly. Thanks Jeff!
  15. 2.0? Not an expert on the Giant size books but you have spine wear and bend and the right side of the cover is very rough. A clean/press will allow that classic cover to shine!
  16. Hello and hope everyone has been well. This looks pretty good over all. I see some spine tics and a bit of wear at the one staple. A couple color breaking lines top right front cover and lower corner too. There is some kind of stain that you can only see from certain angles on Thor's Hand and Helmet. Back looks nice and clean. Flat and really bright colors. Your expert thoughts are welcome!
  17. If they did cleaning the right way those fingerprints shouldn't have been there any longer.
  18. 9.0 and a press will take out that whole bend in the spine.
