75 was abit much for me I did not like seeing rick flip out so much I do not get it at all... how rick is going to come back from that I have no idea ... It almost makes me not like rick as a character at all ...

 

Also I loved it how glen ran into other survivors & then they pushed there one friend into the zombies to get away!! Classic!

ehhh what are you even doing in this topic if you have not read the latest book?.. I personally never click on a topic about a movie or tv series or comic book unless I've read the latest or watched it ... to do other wise is just begging to be spoiled

Watched the trailer & it is awesome I have some hope for the tv series now it may actually be good! I wonder if walking dead #1 cgc 9.8 will shoot up to the $1000 range if it is ! its already the most valuable book in my collection

Yea & I got to say it really gets my goat ... If he up & sold it to someone else or out right decided he wanted it for him self or to sell it on ebay for more i'd rather he just admit he is a ... I could live with that I'd still be pissed at em but at least he would be honest rather than full of !

I'm pissed I go into my shop today for #75 variant & he says he did not get one ... All shops got at least one if you had the series on order .... lying pos is what he is ... I had him put it on hold for me before #74 was even out ... I don't think I'm going to be going back there any more ...

I did manage to get one copy from my other shop though which is good at least its something ... have not checked it out yet to see what grade it would get ....

I'm hopefully getting at least 3 copies of the variant I hope one will be a 9.8

Yup I watched this tonight there is also a cool kirkman video of him on set you can tell he seems tired & blown away by the entire process of it all

But think about this, why are there no Walking Dead figures out there for sale? Why did they do busts of zombies and give them names? Why is there no Rick bust?

There is a lot of money going to the person who designed those characters beyond the publishing of comic books, so that might give you a little hint as to why we don't see Walking Dead Merchandise to often (save for a Statue!)

Yeah I always wondered about those crappy statue & busts ... I'd buy a bust of rick no doubt & maybe some others if done right ...

I can believe the deadline thing with tony though I went to ECCC that was there & his girl friend wouldn't even let em do a simple zombie head sketch or anything for me because he was supposedly behind on his paid sketches

So... THIS is a thread I thought I'd never frequent.

 

I haven't read WD yet. Honestly? I had no intentions to read this book--I am simply NOT into the whole zombie thing. Had a really, really bad experience with Night of the Living Dead as a small kid and never looked back.

 

Why am I posting here if I'm non-Zombie? I think my doctoral comprehensive exams could potentially include Walking Dead with a mix of post-modern literary critical theory.

 

 

I sat down and talked with the professor who might end up being the director for my dissertation. Very productive talk. Anyhow, given the comparative literature angle I am moving in, he recommended I plan on taking part of my exams in graphic novels. He also mentioned WD w/ a Nietzsche / Post-Modern approach as something to include in those exams. It seems WD is more than just brain-eating zombies but is more of an exploration of Gothic-Realist Essentialism (supernatural horror - Cynical, negative view of the world as it is, and then how mankind recreates itself with only the most significant characteristics).

 

Not sure when I'll get to it... but it seems Walking Dead is officially on my must-read list.

Start with volume 1 up dude don't just grab some random volume & start reading ...

I must stop going by these mess holes lists ... They always seem to drop books lately

Also does anyone else feel real sorry for Abraham ?! Kirkman is making him out to be a real cool & awesome/likeable character from the get go so I have a feeling he is going to get a real brutal pain full death ... He also seems to be becoming good friends with rick & anyone past the first camp with rick seems to wind up with a brutal death ... like having there head chopped off

 

 

I think Abraham is being set up to be the leader once all hell breaks loose and Rick is gone. I definitely think he is up to the task. Probably even more so than Rick. Either way, you're probably right and he will die a horrible, brutal, painful death. But I think he'll be around for a bit longer.

Leader of the pack ... Yeah I can see that ... Not as a replacement for rick though ... Honestly I'm surprised the group is not considered about staying in one place now with what we learned of zombie hordes & sounds ... I also got a feeling that if we see two groups of people fighting like this one .. & davidsons there is going to be a zombie horde coming at the same time

... I'd just like to see them focused more on zombie defense really! Rick has taken a step in that direct by getting there guns back at least!

Well I just secured my 2nd copy of #75 variant from the shop in town between the two I'm hoping one of them is 9.8 ! Claudio you make good points about davidson the other guy does talk like he is still alive & will be back soon...
