  1. Two, Moondog is right (and JC is just being a provoking dikk again). Take the $ and move on.

There is no right or wrong in a situation like this - it's all up to the OP on what he does.

If I got mugged for $100, I wouldn't care about the dollar amount, I'd pursue legal (and possibly illegal) remedies til my dying breath, just so that the perp thought twice before trying it on anyone else.

That's just me - I'm like the Energizer Bunny when I get rooked. Others are more easy-going, but it really comes down to doing what you need to, to sleep soundly at night.

If having money stolen from you is going to bother you, then do something about it. If not, then move along.

Pretty weak analogy. Just admit like everyone else you pick your fights. I'm sure your government is boning you in some manner and you're taking it just like we are.

Come on... you have to take the government boning, because there is no one person to go after. You need a nuke... :)

hm^^ I agree it is a great over reaction were this a comic shop & you going in person I don't think theres anyway that something like this would happen... Its just out right bad for biz... heck I work in retail I've put up with more S*** than this and not asked people to leave.. I've only ever done it once with a couple of teens who would come in at least once a week & ask me prices on stuf wasting my time with no intent to buy stuff cause they thought it was funny :P & this only after they did it about 7 times or so :S

  2. Hey gang!

I have run into a major problem with Lone Star Comics. Because of a dispute over a misgraded item I had returned (a book was supposed to be NM, but it had a 2" color-breaking crease, a 1-1.5" color scrape, and many other minor defects, and Lone Star insisted this was okay for a NM book), they told me they no longer wanted to do business with me because I was too critical in my grading.

I had been doing business with them for several years, and when this happened, had about $200 in trade credit with them. Well, Buddy Saunders, the owner who told me not to do business there anymore, said he was going to "convert" my trade credit to a cash payout by paying me $.50 on the $1 for the credit I had on my account. He said that he would not sell me anymore books, and that he would only pay me HALF of what I was owed and my account is closed.

I consider this to be theft and I want to pursue action against them, more out of principle that out of the $100 they plan to steal from me.

Are there any lawyers in the house who can advise me? Should I file a police report in their home town? I definately plan on contacting the Texas Attorney General? If Lone Star makes me go as far as to take this to small claims court, would I need to file in Texas, KY, or both?

And let this be a warning to anyone else here who trades with Lone Star. They think it is perfectly in their right to cash out your trade credit for $.50 on the $1, whenever they decide it benefits them. You can be the judge if you want to take that kind of risk. I had been doing business with them (hundreds, if not thousands, of $$'s in trades per year) for 4 years and then they just screwed me over out of the blue!

These "blown-out-of-proportion-I'm-going-to-sue" diatribes make me ill.

It's only $200 in credit and you're getting a hundred bucks. Suck it up and move on.

Hi there can I sell you $100 worth of books & then not send them to you? lol

  3. And now some pics of my comic room/ office...
