  1. I love that I pick fifteenth. I should be live but my son should be home from hospital today thankfully and so Christmas gift opening may be occurring so I need to be there for that. Form is filled so if ya don’t see me check in around the time, the form knows!
  2. So I was gonna wait until tomorrow but…my 4 year old is in hospital with Kawasaki disease. He’s had a rough couple days but is finally getting the meds we knew he needed two days ago but they didn’t wanna diagnose it that soon. My wife and him are troopers and the lovely nurses there even went out to get him Christmas presents to wrap and put out for him in the AM. So kind, I nearly cried. Anyways, it’s been a stressful day and I needed some joy too and thanks to @BuscemasAvengers I got a ton of it. Amazing! Again such kindness! The only book I already have is the Joe 1 which I know a guy who would love so the gift giving shall be passed further along. Thanks so much, hug your loved ones and merry Christmas to all! oh and not pictured is a Tim’s card! Non canucks won’t understand but fellow Canadians will nod their appreciation.
  3. I walked by my gifts under the tree and probably for the twentieth time thought “I should just open….no one would know”. But then my insides felt terrible….like someone was watching me And filling me with guilt. The excitement is well worth it though!
  4. If he got such a good deal why would he return them? looks like poor packaging. And if the damage shown wasn’t there when you sent, it’s in your friend. Issue a refund, get your books back, sell them again and ship them properly
  5. Happy to welcome back these two beauties to the PC
  6. So they somehow make hustler a hero? I mean…. I’d get behind a Superior Foes of Spidey film focusing on D list villains a man the comic series. But hustler as a hero for some reason? Pass
  7. Just google jt. Takes two seconds. Tons of articles from sources seemingly making it legit. Apologies for no link as I was on my phone and it would t let me copy paste it so I screen shot it and just went with that If I wanted to make fake news posts it wouldn’t be this
  8. With regards to Donald glover as Hypno Hustler… What story do you tell? Sure you can imagine the villain in your own way but aside from the “I’m a villain who is misunderstood and ridiculed” angle, I don’t get how you tell a compelling story that I am supposed to care about…especially without Spidey in it.
  9. I’m pretty sure I mentioned this on a thread years ago as a character who would never have value ill show myself out
  10. Depends on the issues but you stand some chance vs none without any proof
  11. I always personally called this tanning (foxing is more splotchy brown and yellow dots) As for a grade, I have an ASM #23 with similar edge tanning and the rest of the book is sharp otherwise. My book got a 7.0 so I would assume this to be in similar range, 7.0-7.5
  12. Wow...seeing it makes me seriously consider dumping some books. A solid price on an amazing book!
  13. Two books for sale Jungle Action 6 CGC 7.5- $200USD shipped Marvel Premiere 10 CGC 9.2- $295USD shipped Or take both for $475USD shipped First claim in thread takes it. Open to offers. PayPal for payment please. If you are unhappy upon arrival, talk to me and we will work it out. Thanks for looking!
  14. That example has spine ticks which CGC is surprisingly more lenient on compared to other defects. Yours has some similar top left corner wear.. but the killer is the two tiny corner creases bottom right which for me knocks it back
  15. 7.5 from me....maybe 8.0 If this got a 9.0 I would be concerned. The corners and corner creasing are the problems for me and knock it down into the 7.5 range
  16. I will go 1.0-1.5 I think the chunk missing and tattered spine the way it is keeps it from a 1.8 I have a 1.0 DD #1 with added staples. It's spine is nicer than this, plus no missing pieces (loads of other wear though), hence my reasoning for a similar grade, maybe a slight bump up due to yours not having added staples.
  17. For classic stuff, I still think a lot of the DC horro books from the early 70s are criminally low. Everyone looooooves Golden Age horror (completely understandable) but the bronze age has some amazing art and great stories too that maybe one day will have their day in the sun. For more modern stuff, I look at a series Nailbiter, or Low or even Descender and wonder how someone has not grabbed onto these and tried to adapt them into a show or even an animated show (Descender would look great if done in animation). Very affordable series to acquire, amazing stories that surely one day if adapted, will see an increase but because the world revolves around the TV/movie news, these books have gone underappreciated.
  18. You are a collector after my own sentiments....a solid series that, even in the early stages, despite some corniness, I enjoy a lot. Then you have Starlin coming in and of course that is the stretch everyone mentions. But yeah....that is a run that is undervalued IMO.
  19. Also, I assume people posted no shipping restrictions are cool shipping to Canada? If not, I personally am fine paying a portion of said shipping. Heck, for some of the mystery boxes that are US only, I am fine with paying part too (if the donators only want to cover $15, and I cover the remaining $30 or whatever). If donators like @Mac Man, @HighRadArt and @Azkaban are willing of course....if you prefer to keep it US only for simplicity I shall adjust my rankings accordingly
  20. My raffle prize this year will be the same style mystery box as last year...but a little larger! 1 Golden Age Book 1 Silver Age Book 1 Bronze Age Book 1 Copper Age Book 1 New 2010-Now Book 1 TPB of some sort And 1 of the books will be a slab for you blue label lovers Shipping to US and Canada to be covered...if over the pond, I will cover $20, and if you are comfy with the rest then select away!
  21. Whoever wrote this article is wrong on almost everything listed. If you know where and what has value, lots of value can be had. True, 90% of comics are probably worth less than $10. But there is still enough in the remaining 10% to make it an extremely decent place to invest money into and collect books that will always be desired by fans of the medium. I am sure the same can be said for a lot of the other things in that article...again, what a terrible website with the most minimalistic look at a bunch of hobbies.
