PGM X-Men 129 Mark Jewelers
comicginger1789 replied to Gloves Donahue's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I agree with it being 9.0-9.2 capable on the top end after a press. VF+ is where I would call it as is. -
PGM DD #9 - First Echo

This. Be honest with flaws. Honestly always pays off for those long term in life. At least that is what I choose to believe. -
So the scene at the end of the trailer suggests we are in the current time period. I thought the word was this film took place in the past. Either way I am less intrigued now as there is NOTHING exciting looking in that trailer. I’m not saying a compelling story can’t be told and it won’t do well but to win over the average fan well I wonder if they will have done enough. And maybe it’s not for the average fan but if that is the case, I feel that could lead to poor sales and what the public deems a poor movie. I am less intrigued after watching that trailer I gotta say. Whatever feel some people here mentioned having I just wasn’t feeling I guess. And this comes from someone who enjoys the Eternals....

I’ll go 9.4. Not a 9.8 because unless my eyes bad I see a minute crease on back top left corner. Plus the front top right corner appears damaged. That and a couple spine ticks so maybe 9.2-9.4 is safest bet.
-
The book length crease they would hammer. It’s nicer than 3.0 but because of the size of the crease I feel wouldn’t quite hit 4.0 so for me a very solid 3.5.

Got the set the other day. Issue one looks great, first print. Couple flaws, wondering where you all think it might fall:) Couple spine ticks and ink run near spine on back are the biggest detractors I can see...

I also laughed at this list...especially number 1 that the OP picked up AND Walking Dead 100...that issues has not blown up at all. Stagnant/declining like a lot of Walking Dead stuff since the show stopped. Only book on that list I would put stock in is UF#4. That and there are like a bunch more I would say are WAY more relevent and have room to grow that what they listed.

Def be prepared for step 5 on your first submission...ESPECIALLY if you sent books in thinking "gosh gee whillickers maybe I will get a 9.8 like those Youtubers I see get all the time!" Nope. Nope nope. Remember, sometimes you only see the wins and the losses are kept a deep dark secret....

Hi...Have We Met Before...And If So When?
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Comics General
Yeah that is one I want to find. I have the Surfer/Drac meeting. Fun little story and like, it makes me wonder why they felt the need to have such a crossover back in the day. Like what went on in the writer's room coming up with that idea?? -
Hulk #180 #181 (what grade?)
comicginger1789 replied to mgcrazy's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Any way ya slice is these are solid looking lower grade copies, worthy of slabbing especially if selling is in mind. They will sell no problemooooo -

PGM X-Men 14 - grade came back
comicginger1789 replied to Brendan H's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I was thinking 8.0-8.5 before scrolling. Glad the pen did not hit it that hard, great copy! -
Yikes you are harsh! 7.0-7.5 as is (that contact dirt on back puts it there). Cleaning could get you to a guaranteed 7.5-8.0. The soft corners and several spine ticks make it hard to go much higher.

Hulk #180 #181 (what grade?)
comicginger1789 replied to mgcrazy's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I am harsher and will say 3.5 on each as is, simply for the amount of spine wear and staining (plus and maybe it is the pics but the interior pages seem discoloured). I think pressing and cleaning both could get 4.0-4.5. Definitely think 5.0 or higher is not possible even with pressing/cleaning. -
Yes definitely post in the grading forum but that said, that crease breaks colour. Do not be surprised with a 7.0-7.5 at best. Creases are killers especially when noticeable, regardless of how small. Stains, staple rust and finger prints are the other killers that people often overlook on books (especially the back covers) and are often why you see people perplexed when getting a book back from CGC that they thought was 9.4+ but in reality they get an 8.0-9.0

Hi...Have We Met Before...And If So When?
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Comics General
Yes and if I recall, Spidey is chasing Gobby and they happen across where Hulk is hiding...but if I recall, Spidey battles Hulk but Gobby stays in the shadows so I don't know if they "met" but yes, definitely appear in the same story! -
I'm @comicginger1789 on IG too... I don't sell much (only because I am in Canada and shipping is expensive and I find it easier to sell within Canada atm) but I am happy to connect more folks on IG!

I did not see a thread like this so I thought I would start one up... Ever wonder where the first time character A met character B? I sure do! And sometimes, the internet is tricky in searching these things. Obviously for two big name characters meeting (like say Thor and Hulk or Hulk and Thing), those moments are well known. But I have often wondered if certain villains and other characters have ever met/battled each other. So this is the thread to post such ponderings and hopefully those more well-versed that I can help answer when people do inquire! My first one...has Hulk ever met/battle Green Goblin? If so when and what issue?
