  1. I'm the guilty party.... There were 2 7.5s on eBay as of yesterday, and when I couldn't get the owner of the $2500 copy to budge, I won this one at auction. The $2500 copy is now gone as well...
  2. It seems to me like step one is finding a potential trade partner, THEN haggling about the details. No?
  3. I braved the mad rush at the art drop to get a few pages of OA from Wonder Woman: Dead Earth 1 and 2, before issues 3 and 4 sold complete.
  4. Hey don't get me wrong, I love me some Carrot, and yeah, they have held their value decently over the years, Visions included. But inflation-adjusted? I took a beating.
  5. Nexus 1-50 is one of the finest comic runs of the last 4 decades. I only wish I had a page, but a certain... Nexus fan... eats them all....
  6. My plans are to stay organized, leave my family with just a few boxes of slabbed comics and a portfolio of artwork, and specific instructions of how to sell them (as of this writing, Heritage). As for my collection of books, I'll note which ones are worth anything, with instructions on who to send them to. (again, as of now, Heritage!)
  7. I would, but I gave away all my raw MoKF to my little nephew last year,
  8. I've been collecting on and off since the early 1980s. In that time, my collection has gone from a small file cabinet to 20+ longboxes, then when I got sick of it all, back down 8 or so. Then when I switched from raw books to slabs, down t just a few. I thought when I finished my slabbed Action Comics run last year that was it for me and this hobby. I was pushing 50, with no relatives who cared what I was collecting. I stopped buying slabs, stopped reading new TPBs, and put it all away in storage. Until Covid. Now working at home, with an extra 4 hours a day due to the lack of commute, I found myself rediscovering new artists and storytellers, following a ton of people on twitter, buying new collected editions and even - GASP - floppies. Then I started finding raw books I still owned to send to get slabbed. Then, this weekend, made my first big purchase in almost 2 years, AND LOOKING FOR MORE! COMICS ARE GREAT. THE THRILL IS BACK.
  9. This was the first MoKF book I read back when I was like 10 years old. For years I had a horrible beater copy, after which I ridiculously overpaid to get this 9.8, which was at the time the only one IIRC.
  10. IMHO Gene Day was fantastic, and greatly underappreciated. So tragic when he passed.
  11. Sometimes you just gotta catch 'em all, even the ones with the dumb-looking covers.
  12. I had a 9.8 of this one, but decided to keep the double cover instead.
  13. I had 3 9.8s at one point of this issue. The cover OA is currently at auction, and... I am tempted...!
