Yes sir! I actually offered a guy such a ridiculous low ball price on an obo just because I wanted to open negotiations and he accepted. In that case I asked my friend to make a best offer fifty dollars lower than mine. Took awhile to seal the deal,but it was satisfying when I had the books in my hand.

I know,I guess it curbs impulse buying too,but I hate having to sit around for 5 days just to pull the trigger on something. I'd rather get outbidded in the last two seconds than to watch two buyers battle it out with three days left,cool down, only to watch someone come in and take the stock. I mean I watched two items until 30 seconds left bid on both and lost. Most realistic auctions only last a little longer than that. I guess there should be a two day viewing period and than an open auction.

I think there is alot of flaws with ebay auctions that benefit the seller rather than the buyer. Some people start bidding wars long before the allotted time is done, and the length of the auction is way to long as well. I guess that's really not ebay flaws but the ignoramuses who think their bidding war with four days left is somehow gonna impact the collecting economy, it just inflates it.

I see a pretty decent price on a book graded 9.8 by CGC that I am going to take my chances on with about 30 seconds remaining. My bad, I type quickly and sometimes my sentence structure appears distorted.

I learned that lesson with my first bid, ASM 361, I actually began dialogue with the seller thinking I was gonna win.Lesson learned😪
