  1. The thief has to know the value of what he is stealing. It's easy when it comes to jewelry and money, any shmuck knows there is value in those, but comics is a tight market, there is a vast difference in value from incredible hulk 324 and Amazing Fantasy 15. When it comes to thievery look closer to home. Someone who has studied the market. When it comes to fencing stolen merchandise that's even hard, you have to prove the value of the product you are trying to fence, even than you only get 33 points on the dollar. Whoever did this is a piece of s..., but it's most likely a piece of s... that knows the industry, they arent breaking into a car if they know all they are going to get is a knightfall run and maybe some back issues of fantastic four.
  2. It took a lot of criticism to get the message though. I'm a slow learner. Just someone said in another thread that "This" may never last forever. I think collecting comics is beautiful on two fronts, the value of the story and the value of the comic. I just hope that when the value of the story dies for me,that the value of the comic reigns forever. I suppose the safest thing to say is..."I shouldnt over think things. Just enjoy the ride."
  3. I understand, flagship books like AF 15 ASM 1,Batman 1,ect ect Can you show me an example of the decline.
  4. I cant wait for those days either, because if ten percent of those movie goers turn to comics than the market will be insane.
  5. To the value of comics. Are we in a boom phase. Like there is a value to some moderns that baffle me. NYX 3 EOSV 002 Thanos 13 Ultimate fallout 4 Stocks peak and plummet based on a companies success in commercial markets and sales, especially supply and demand. Sports cards are the same based on a players performance. Do you think comics will always continue to rise. For example spectacular spiderman circa 1974 is dirt cheap, and spiderman is marvels flagship, even though it's not Amazing 1 it is still spidey. But my question is not about the value of SS 1, it is the value of comics as a whole. And I do not think the success of MCU or DCU determines the success of comics, both incredible hulk and Fantastic 4 werent particularly popular at the box office compared to say Deadpool or Avengers and yet those comics are eating at the top of the food chain when it comes to value. Just wondering your opinion.
  6. Not only is that Amazing but its Fantastic as well. Awesome πŸ‘
  7. Hahahahahaha πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ‘
  8. Do cracked CGC cases reduce the value of the comic, the crack is over the CGC label. Thanks
  9. That's really terrible. I heard security is weak at some of these shows too. At Toronto con a $22,000 book was stolen. At least with CGC there is a certification number and books can be tracked. Dealers should have a stolen alert system on their sites. Doubtful a thief would try to sell it publicly, probably try to deal with a fence unfortunately, but the majority of crooks are stupid so if they do decide to go public with the comics they'll get pinched quick.
  10. Hes a little rough around the corners,I think it's an 8.5 at best, with Stans signature a bit higher
  11. It's a bit much,lol. Sent I to CGC BY BUFFALO BILL! πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
  12. I see Gwen,I see Mj....how come no Venom though, imagine he turned around and it was punisher skullπŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
  13. That is stunning I think an ASM 300 and a BA 12 are on my next horizon. I kindve want to buy them together. πŸ‘
  14. Oh manπŸ‘ That is totally awesome Fa Punisher at a garage sale!!! That only goes to show what other treasures can be unearthed in what the ignorant perceive as trash. πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
  15. Reading all these amazing stories and scores not only brings tears to my eyes and tells me I made the right decision getting into this hobby but it also tells me I've barely broke the periphery of it. I can't begin to imagine the magical moments to come.πŸ‘πŸ˜
  16. I know, I find myself scrolling too, I've even meant a couple guys that I buy off of and we've exchanged stories,I text one out west everyday pretty much, he keeps me in the loop on keys, even understands when I'm worn out and nothing comes to mind worth buying, always gives me great deals and throws in a freebie or two. Comics is a tight knit group, but it's an amazing one to be apart of,yeah we have our ups and downs, some collections far more valuable than others, but the importance of them in our lives no less significant.
