I'll have to break it back out, but there is a shadow toward the bottom of the back cover.
Looking at the pictures it does appear there might be some soiling on the back cover, center spine area. -
Got this through eBay at 40% off their asking price. Does anyone have a rough idea on a possible grade for this?
Would it be a good candidate for pressing?

Wrong place, and wrong era.

Would using archival document repair tape hurt the grade any if used for the back cover? I'm not sure that I will ever slab this but wondering how CGC would handle it. I had an Amazing Spider-Man 122 with a fairly large tear on the back cover, used this tape, sold it to MyComicShop and they graded it as VF+.
If done right that tape nearly disappears.

Hey, I agree there are times where his art leaves you to wonder "WTF" but I genuinely like his style for the most part.
The other guys that will be drawing should be good too! Whilce Portacio is another one of those X-Greats that I look forward to seeing his art again.Rob will be doing the bookends of the series.

He draws like a 6th grader draws in their notebook during Math class.
Show me any sixth grader that has sold millions of copies of a single book with their art. Today's artists are generally worse than the greats of the 90s.

I have 220 issues of the first Marvel run and have subbed to this run.
It has been good so far! -

The only two covers that I liked enough to purchase were the ones by Steve Rude and Alex Ross.
The others just weren't cutting it for me. I'm subbed to Detective so I'll slab those two variants and read the Jim Lee regular. -

spots of color loss bottom front cover
CGC 8.0
I just thought it was a printer related issue. Those dots are blue in color when viewed in person.
Getting this pressed and we'll see how it comes out after grading. -
This has been my favorite modern series from Marvel (along with Venom). I have every issue so far.
I'm thinking about having the first ten issues graded. I grab my books from DCBS.

I have never heard of that mag but it looks fine+
the centerfold is cool 🆒🆒 because they have space for you to add your own artwork👍👍🆒
It lasted all of three issues.
It has art from Wrightson, Kaluta and some other big names.

I'm sending this book off today, along with three others, and will have them all screened for potential pressing/cleaning.
The major problems with this book, as on the others, is on the back cover; which I hope can be pressed out.
I grabbed these after my dad passed away in 2015. -
I've gone ahead and submitted an order for the three listed books. Will get a press on each, and graded (fast tracked). Will update when they get back.
In addition to the listed books today, I am also submitting Detective Comics 457 (will list it tomorrow for a PGM).This will be my first time using CGC or having graded books.

Yeah, the front is really nice looking. The biggest problems this one has are what's seen on the back.
I'm mostly looking to preserve these older books as I have the stories in hardcover collections. -
No, that orange is the ink they used to mark these older newsstand books with. It doesn't make sense in today's world but back then, I guess it did.

Just looking through what CGC has graded some of these books at (in similar condition), I'd say your book would be anywhere from a 6.0 to 6.5 range.
Though I'd imagine it could go up a grade if it were pressed.
PGM X-Men #100
in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

Thanks, everyone!
I paid under $65 shipped (roughly 40% off their asking price) and I'm still not sure if I made a good deal or not.
We'll see once I can get this pressed and graded.
