  1. Let's say you come across an interesting old bottle  & a genie appears from a cloud of  smoke

& says he will grant you a wish to live in  the pages of ONE comic title / series  ...which would it be ?

Oh welp, for some reason my post with the "C_nt Comics #1" from 1969 was removed.  That cover is a bit racy, to be sure, but quite extraordinary.  Worthy of the SA in 1969.  Comic-book wise, not so sure what else, except for Silver Surfer #4 (cover Feb 1969), but that hit the stands in November 1968.  Scooby Doo #1 has a cover date Mar 1970, so it likely hit the stands in December 1969, so it counts!  That's a biggie.  Also Cap 110, 117, and Thor 165?   And we can't forget Vampirella #1!   Hopefully this passes censors.  But if the books don't cut it, the Apollo moon landing counts for something!

    (thumbsu up for Vampirella

  3. Like I've said ... I'm new to the hobby & as far as Stan Lee using a ghostwriter I don't have a clue ?                                 I know Stan Lee is a BIG name  & I thought he is / was looked upon as a " GOD" in the comic world & taking shots at him was strictly forbidden , a no - no

  4. As a youngster I'd spend weekends with my grandparents & I remember my grandpa & me would jump in the car & head to downtown rock island , Illinois where he'd do a little shopping .                             picking up his cigars & other things he needed at the time & always giving me some money to buy comics at the f.w. Woolworth's that sat on the plaza , I'd pick out my comics ( stuff like ... JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY , HOUSE OF SECRETS , HOUSE OF MYSTERY , THE WITCHING HOUR , GHOSTS , etc  ) I loved that kinda stuff -  while he browsed around the store then we'd either get something to eat at the lunch counter or walk across the plaza to  HAROLD'S CONEY ISLAND ( best hot dogs / chili dogs ever ) while sipping a root beer .                               My grandfather is gone now ( as is " Harold's "  & the old Woolworth's store ) & I miss him dearly .                     I miss those days with a heavy heart .

Shots at Stan are pretty common among collectors.

It's a long and complicated conflict which centers around how much Stan actually created vs how much he marketed and took credit for.

There are many books on the topic and spirited threads here.

o.k. , thanks I'll have to check those out (thumbsu
