  1. I've had great transactions on the CGC boards, buying expensive books from sellers, as well as on eBay. But I'm seeing some nice listing on Facebook Marketplace. I'm used to using PayPal, but some sellers are asking for Google Pay or alternate payment forms, and I'm not sure which ones would still protect me as a buyer, etc. Essentially, would you shy away from these listings, or what red flags do you notice that would keep you away. I just don't want to get scammed. Thanks!
  2. Hey everyone! I originally had a 9.8 UF4 and sold it several years ago for $1200, before the surge in pricing. I'm seeing local offers pop up in the $1600 range right now - I just wanted to get opinions if it may come down more, or if that's a decent price point to buy back into it for my PC (regretted selling it at the time, but bills had to be paid). Thanks! Kaz
  3. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! The seller is reputable and said that there was no signs of restoration or color touch - I looked over everything and it seemed good to me - I did see some light coloration on the bottom of the inside cover, but holding it up to the light, it didn't appear that anything was touched up from the front - but again, I don't know about that stuff too well - if anyone knows more about that kind of thing, feel free to let me know:
  4. Hi everyone! Was finally able to save up for a lower grade Hulk 181 - but it's complete and better than no Hulk 181 I plan on getting it cleaned and pressed, then submitted to CGC for my PC - just wanted to get any opinions on what I may be looking at, grade-wise. Thanks in advance for your help!
  5. Thanks everyone for the advice! I put in a slightly lower offer and we'll see - they are a trusted seller with a solid reputation - the book doesn't appear trimmed, has the proper value stamp, and no signs of color touch that I can see. Seller advised that I can return for full refund if not satisfied - may take to a local store owner who is pretty good with grading and has a much better eye than I'm sure I would and get his thoughts. If I do get it, I'll throw some images up on the "Grading" section of the forum - again: thanks everyone!
  6. Hey everyone - I have the opportunity to locally pick up a Hulk 181 that is ungraded, has the marvel value stamp, and visually looks like a 4.5 - 5.0, IMO. The book is listed for $3000, which seems like a fair rate from what I was looking at previous eBay sales - but just wanted to see if folks thought that was a decent price point. Thanks for any suggestions! Kaz
  7. Awesome seller - great communication - easy to work with and top notch shipping. I'd happy buy from again and again!
  8. Fast shipping and great communication - can't ask for more - thanks Rick!
  9. Go figure, I'm a Mike who is a Cerebus fan, but alas, also a Mike without the coin for this one. Great book though!
  10. Bought a GSX1 off Irving, and everything was perfect - great communication and fast and secure shipping. Highly recommended.
  11. I always dug that Frazetta cover!
  12. New to the board, and will be purchasing soon, so wanted to start a feedback thread for myself, since all the cool kids are doing it Thanks!
  13. Back in my high school days, I worked at a Borders, and did early AM stocking. The stock team used to open up sealed magazines, books, CD's, vinyl - and listen/read them in store, or even burn DVD's at home then return the stock back in the next day - we had several machines dedicated to repackage/reseal the items to back to good as new. I had friends do this with the Superman 75 (they wanted the armbands and then sealed it back up). If someone can use these for an educational purpose, have at it, but I wouldn't mind one for nostalgia sake.
  14. Well, I'll just say 4th in line to take the pressure off you, and go for pure overkill
  15. Nice Books! I don't see many of the Mystery Men #10's these days.
