  1. Got a freshly slabbed slab off feebay and low and behold there's a scuff on the case above the label Was able to remove it using plastic polish from an auto supply store (normally used to polish foggy headlamp covers). First, I wiped the area with a microfiber cloth to clean and make sure it's an abrasion, not a smudge. Used a paper towel and a pea-sized drop of polish, no pressure, with circular and side-to-side motion then wiped the residue off with a clean paper towel. This plastic is soft so it only took 3 rubbings to get the job done. Apologies if this is common knowledge. These cases scratch easy so no need to reslab if you have a heavily abraded case. You could even take a buffing wheel to it if you're hardcore. NEXT UP: waxing a slab! Furniture wax? Car wax? Not sure when I'll do this so if someone else wants to take the plunge...
  2. OMG they destroyed it! They are probably hiring temps to deal with backlog. Now you are the axman and the nice lady is CGC! yeahh Should be reimbursed FULL VALUE of the book not just the damage done!
  3. Because listing it on feebay takes 15 minutes time and cost nothing...all to gain, nothing to lose.
  4. Possibly could be one of the Stanley Morse mags published from 1969-1971, they reprinted his pre-code horror stories and were quite gruesome. Titles such as: Chilling Tales of Horror, Shock, Ghoul Tales, Stark Terror.
  5. Out of curiosity, what does an Edgar Church book smell like?
  6. Seller should get it slabbed gem mint detective 27 x 3
  7. Sure has nice white pages considering it was laid up in an attic 'for decades'...wonder what else was up there?
  8. Haven't collected comics in almost 40 years but seems I've caught the bug again. Went to a show today and now I own this beautiful Jungle Comics #131 Has tears around the staples, at top staple on front cover the tear is 2/3 to being detached. Lower spine corner is a bit rough. Cover appears flat but when viewing at an angle you can see remnants of creases (subscription crease maybe?). Could it have been pressed? Any comments appreciated! (even bad ones) What I paid and grade sold as:
  9. The hero movies AFAIK do well in China. It would only take a tiny fraction of well-heeled Chinese movie fans catching the collecting bug and values will not only hold but could continue to outpace inflation for decades to come. And there's also India...and the number of existing back issues can never grow. if CGC Beijing opens, then sky's the limit.

  11. Seller knew it was restored but didn't explicitly list it as such so as to maximize the sale price; a deliberate deception. If the buyer was foolish and should have known it was restored, then why did the seller use the qualifiers 'may' and 'possibly' in describing the restoration? Why did the seller not know it was restored? Can I sell a 1 oz. gold coin for $1500, state it 'may' be tungsten and be absolved of all responsibility when it is found to be worthless?
  12. Gone with the Wind is the highest grossing movie in history and will likely never be topped.
  13. Given how expensive the hero movies are to produce, it won't take much drop in box office for the studios to pull the plug.
