  1. when it comes to a signing, always include the press, people have learnt this the super hard way. CGC won't guarantee your book comes back the same due to the overwhelming amount of books that drop in grade during a signing.
  2. If the keys are not high grade, sending to CGC will just eat up his profits. He's better just selling them raw
  3. These are not rare occurences, comics are made in batches so yours wont be an isolated case. A properly centered comic is more appealing, given all the mishaps one can have. So yours wont be worth more money. The grade wont differ. Also, why not post a pic to show what you are talking about exactly.
  4. I actually think you will come out of this ok. It's not a 9.6 now but with a press it could be that again. Did you contact them yet?
  5. here's the thing, if you want to sell the whole thing at once, it would be to a dealer and the going rate is 5-10 cents a book. So you're looking at around 2000-3000$ for that entire collection. As someone else suggested, before doing that, just sell the pricier ones here on these boards, since you already did that work. Sell the ones worth $30 and up and then dump the rest locally at that 5-10 cents rate.
  6. Is there a spine roll going on too? Because thats a lot of overhang from the side for a modern book. Or was it miswrapped?
  7. Nothing wrong with the comic and unless you are getting it signed i suggest just keeping it for your collection since just sending 1 book in for grading isnt worth it. I am sure there are other comics you could spend that 50$ on.
  8. I would have graded it a 3 since it still looks like a solid book despite the staining but since cgc is harsh in stains, the 2.5 makes sense. I would not have expected higher than 3.
  9. I have a few GA books with spine roll that had a backing board placed in the middle. I didn't know why, but thanks to your post i now get why. And since they still have spine roll I can attest that the technique didn't work well enough.
  10. You really should contact customer service, that will be the best option for you.
  11. My main issue here is how faded this comic is, but I don't know how much that would affect the grade. There is some writing on the cover that someone tried to erase at some point, or so it seems.
  12. I'm guessing 4.0 even with the tape. Do you all think that's in the ballpark or am I off?
  13. I totally get that. I still think the shop was just looking into getting money now rather than later, even if it's a possible bigger payout. Then again, that comic happens to be in the 1 percent of comics that could be worth looking more into for a shop. Looking at Thor comics in general for instance, you would be fine pricing them all at guide and only looking into the ones which the guide has a special notation for instead of searching for each one to see what they sold on e-bay for.
  14. The dealer is responding to criticism on these boards right now and it's not good. They are fully aware of this loophole and using it to their advantage instead of stating the restoration in the description. The picture they post is all the info they wish to disclose to buyers. It's their prerogative, buyer beware is in full effect. And as a buyer, I will ensure to put this seller in my list of people to avoid.
  15. Doesn't that come out to a rather small margin if they are 9.4? I worked in a shop and I can assure you selling all my inventory for $100 each now is way more advantageous than forking out more money and waiting months to eventually sell them at $150.
  16. Ah yes, I mean you, sorry I jumbled the posts. Alright, that makes sense. I do find it odd how 655 is considered a Damian cameo and 656 a full appearance by CGC when he appears just as clearly in both and is in more panels in 655. Good thing you found a Teen Titans 12, I've been having a hard time finding one locally.
  17. Only 8 in census Also, just wanted to post this here since while it is not under 10, I am still surprised there are only 12 copies of Master Comics 31 cgc grades.
  18. Yup, I'll be posting a few more Doll Man comics in this forum today, so you can check out the others that came out.
  19. No it is not, sadly. And I'll say why. Restoration is very costly and is only worthwhile if the result produces a rarity. Meaning if the book you are restoring is hard to find in a really good shape. it's not the case with this book since this isn't a rare book, same goes for any book after 1945 (and most before as well). And if there are non restored copies available, then that's what people will buy instead of the restored one. So you'd be paying 50-100$ to restore this comic and only sell it as a 10$ novelty item. Do you have Forever People 1? That book is selling well these days, in any grade.
  20. thanks! this was the first one I ever found that looked decent enough to own. most copies out there are falling apart.
  21. @greggy , any reason you picked Batman 656 over 655?
