Classic Covers of the Silver Age!
southern cross replied to sfcityduck's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Though not a classic cover. I've always loved the look of this cover. Typical cover what DC were doing in the 60s. Finally picked up a copy during this summers convention circuit. -

Think this might be the only raw book in better condition. Most of the pre hero TTA I pick up I'm looking for the cheaper good to very good range raw so I can happily read them without worrying about damaging them.

Why is the Tales to Astonish series so undervalued?
southern cross replied to Blastaar's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
I think it's fantastic that TTA is undervalued and not sought after by collectors. I love the title and subby us a favorite of mine. Only title I've been chipping a run out of. 54 books out of 101 and 33 are pedigrees. Collectors don't seek the title run books so the peds go for the same value as a non ped in grade. Quick group shot of my pedigree TTA run -

FF1 in my opinion. FFs are already heating up. I did see a cgc .5 incomplete does not affect the story issue 4 go for over $600 at heritage last week. And we have all seen what the Avengers movie has done for Avengers 1. So either nicest copy you can get for your money or go 2.0 on FF and 2.0 on X-Men 1 and hedge your bets. If they plan to remake the X-Men again with Disney magic. Food for thought.

I haven't gotten around to getting this book graded as I know it would get slammed with the small tear at the bottom. This cover is one of many favorites for me.

Not trying to get the run. I just love the rogue villains. Why most of the books i have got a rogue on the cover. Got this cover done for me at the last con I was at. My three most favorite rogues. And the group shot is a old pic. I've since picked up a 123 and another rogue cover I can't remember the issue number and a beat up 109
