So, if I understand you correctly, you foresee an X-Men #1 CGC 3.0 being worth $15,000 by the end of 2021? I purchased this book a couple of years ago (I think late 2019) for $4,500. It's just hard for me to believe that a book can increase 233% in a little over a year.

I mean a 3.0 sold for around 10000 on ebay if an x men movie if officially announced 15000 doesn't sound like a reach

  2. this might be a little unpopular but I think x men is more important. Now don't get me wrong hulk 1 is super important but the x men 1 is the 1st of many important characters, the first of a super popular villain and its the first appearance of a team that's been around for a very long time. I think what makes x men 1 important is its the 1st x men its kinda like avengers 1 where there's no 1st appearances but its the 1st of the team but .X men 1 has that and a ton of super important 1st appearances And also to add on all of that it’s also the 1st appearance of the mutants. And now for the mcu of course hulk is still around but his story at this point is complete and the mcu are gonna want the mutants to be a big thing for a long time. And I think that will push x men 1 even higher. Now dont get me wrong I think both of these comics are great but I just think x men 1 has more of an impact.

    Something to think about...

Have been reading Cates Venom run and recently watched the Venom movie again and it is clear that the symbiote is its own character.  The symbiote is Venom.  Eddie Brock is just a vessel.  Eddie was the first, current and most successful of the characters attached to the Venom symbiote, and the bond between the two deserves all the accolade it gets.  (ASM 300)

So the symbiote calls itself Venom?  It was the symbiote who suggested to Eddie to call themselves Venom. (Web Annual 8)  Maybe ASM 252 should be worth ASM 300 type money, or maybe people really like Eddie Brock that much.

the symbiote isn't venom until asm 300

I mean no disrespect to anyone here and to the seller if they are on these boards. Can someone explain to me what I am seeing here and those corners? Did this book have a printing defect? (shrug)  This does't have sharp corners at all.

Okay but to have the Watcher front an center? His look has always just made me laugh. I would have rathered a close up of the FF, with fear in their faces, looking front and off page at the coming of Galactus. I agree, the idea and concept and mentioning of Galactus all work to drive intrigue, but visually I am not fan and I think greater things could have happened here.

yeah for sure Its not a cover for everyone

But...the Wizard is referencing the villain on the cover...not Dr. Strange.

At the least, FF#48 mentions Galactus' name. This has zero mention of Dr. Strange anywhere. And I will agree that FF#48 is a terrible cover. #49 is the best. #50 could have amazing sans the poo brown background.

I think ff48 has a great cover it really fits the tone of the comic well and it makes you want to read it so see who galactus is

I just looked at mine ...

I mean, it's a run-of-the-mill, unspectacular cover for sure, and the two villains featured on the cover have not stood the test of time. Most importantly, as noted Dr. Strange isn't even teased on the cover, much less pictured.  Those who say the cover depresses the value of the book are not wrong.

But it's not like the cover is absolute dog-poop.  It's pretty representative of the Human Torch run -- neither better nor worse than most of them.  Actually, the more I stare at it the more I realize that its basic design is somewhat similar to that of two other big key books -- ASM #1 and FF #5.

I actually dont hate the cover its actually starting to grown on me.

    Where does it say that?

    Mystic 15 ( Sept , 2001 )

First comic appearance of Harry Potter?

So this one has blown up and caused a lot of controversy.  Is this Harry?  Is it Tim Hunter? Is is Tim Potter? It is hard to say but it helps that Rowling would go after those who used Harry’s image and she sent a cease and desist to Crossgen. The glasses and scarf look like Harry but the wand could be connected to Tim Hunter.

yeah im pretty sure its hunter because of the wand but hunter doesnt have a haircut like the one in mystic so its possible they made harry but changed the wand to avoid copyright

I understand what you're saying.  This hobby has its warts.  Some things do not make any blasted sense.  Ms. Marvel was another classic example of 1st appearances.  Heck even Strange Academy had a preview in other books before the 1st issue was released.  IMO if you have a full shot and you're in more than 1 panel then it should be considered a 1st appearance.  A silhouette, or 1 picture should be considered a cameo.  I know I am not the authoritative figure to determine this is just my opinion.

I dont consider previews 1st appearances even if youre in more than 1 panel because well its in the name preview thats not a 1st appearance but everyone has a different opinion
