  1. Very nice book. I've always been quite the Gleason fan, especially of the Honeymooners. Does the comic have any of the charm of the TV series?
  2. There's always the oversolicitous school of approach. Ex. One might politely notice that the price seems to be much higher than current trends and ask if there is something about the book that you are overlooking in this assessment. The seller might then provide pertinent and unexpected information or might reflect upon how his/her price is too high or thank you for your polite question and then tell you to go away because they can sell the book for whatever they want.
  3. Rawhide Kid #44 • February 1965 • November 1964 newsstand The Grand Comicbook Database says the cover may be Ayers (with a question mark) over Kirby. I am seeing far more brush control than usual for Ayers. I'm thinking maybe Sol Brodsky. Rawhide Kid was bi-monthly at this time and it gave Larry Lieber the opportunity to concentrate on his pencils and inks. A rather nice page from Stan's brother. The prairie wind was arustlin' when I took this photo but the letter suggesting western/superhero crossovers is interesting --- and it does show the world's shortest form of the Marvel Checklist.

  5. Millie the Model #119 • March 1964 • December 1963 newsstand A recent pickup from this weekend's Toronto Comicon. It was a good show: this comic courtesy of Harley Yee and the opportunity to meet Charisma Carpenter. The teen issues always had different ads and back covers -- some being quite interesting reflections of the tenor of their times. One of the additional highlights of this issue is a self-portrait of Stan Goldberg who draws himself as a fine artist for whom Millie models. A far more recent image of Mr. Goldberg.
  6. Tales to Astonish #68 • June 1965 • March 1965 newsstand Not so newly arriving but a CGC 9.0 just freed from its tomb, courtesy of tortoise.

  8. Well I just thought that since this is a Tec 27 *and* the single highest cgc-graded copy in the world that would garner some interest. But alas: somehow it is not interesting to discus this book. Not a single dealer has replied. But any way I am also loosing interest in it. Why?
  9. Millie the Model #130 • September 1965 • June 1965 newsstand One book-long story revolving around misunderstandings, tales of mystery from the past, and upset lovers.
  10. Millie the Model #121 • July 1964 • April 1964 newsstand Millie goes to Hollywood because the life of a model is too much the same grind day after day. However, she finds the life of a star to be far more constrictive than that of a model so she returns to the glamourous world of fashion. Oh, what a minute, it was all a dream. Perhaps fans of film can ID the stars. I think Elvis and Liz are easy but the other two are more challenging. Perhaps, Cary Grant and ?. House ads are a perennial favourite of mine.
  11. Patsy and Hedy #91 • December 1963 • September 1963 newsstand An addition to the collection courtesy of Dale Roberts. A very fine Al Harley Cover with four planes of perspective.
  12. I logged in to post a newer arrival myself but I must stop to say what a pretty book this is.
