  1. Sales details are as follow: I can ship up to 3-4 books in the Priority Envelope for $7.00; boxed a little higher and at cost (around at $8-$10) but will cheerfully ship via First Class (starts at $3.50) for cheaper books to keep the costs down. PM for international shipping quotes or questions. As usual, drop the if you'd like the book in the thread or via PM. In the event more than one person would like a book, the first by timestamp gets it regardless whether via PM or in the thread. Payment is expected within 7 days of invoice; payment accepted via PayPal; checks or postal money orders are fine, too. And of course, if you're not happy, return the books for your money back.
  2. A great opportunity to pick up some holiday goodies!
  3. Almost time for the VCC! https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/59-virtual-comic-con-vcc-convention-hall/
  4. That’s not what happened. I don’t have time to re-tell the story; this article does a decent job: https://www.cbr.com/comic-book-urban-legends-revealed-157/
  5. Dang. This is the first time a coupon has come up when there are books I'm watching, but I don't have a smart phone. May have to ask the missus to download the app when I get home.
  6. WTF? Oddly enough, that was the same exact thought I had when I read that post.
  7. Thanks for the heads up! Glad to see the extras on the Season 2 set. I just got the season 1 set a few weeks ago to replace my DVD set. It looks fantastic. Second season doesn't quite measure up to the first so the alternate cuts make it more enticing, though I was intending to get it eventually.
  8. I first met Stan in 1978 at a small con in W. Virginia. He was appearing with Harlan Ellison. This was back in the days when he just sat at a table, signed and talked with fans. He signed my ASM #8 that day: I also recorded his address/lecure/Q&A in the auditorium; not sure if I still have it. A lot of it was a variation on the Origins of Marvel Comics books. I’ve been at a few signings in later years, but the best was in his hotel room in 2012. He was signing significant stacks of books and also meeting a few people, and “on” the whole time. While signing some X-men book he says “I always thought it was cool that I had Cyclops shoot beams from his eyes. Nobody had done that before.” Max, his handler says, “Well, there was Superman.” “Huh?” (Stan’s bad hearing in play.) “There was Superman,” Max said, “he shot heat beams, x-ray vision from his eyes.” Without missing a beat Stan says “Poop. I never read Superman.” And then “How did they steal that before I did it?” Though of course he used the "S" word and not "poop".
  9. I didn't like it and you can go back to classic shipping Okay, just shipped a package. Yes indeed, the "improved" shipping poops the bed. Also, it took several minutes and repeated attempts to get to the "classic" page. I would imagine this is a Beta rollout that will be imposed on everyone at some point.
  10. Details? I haven't seen this yet; shipped a package Wednesday and all was the same.
  11. I got nothing. There was only one book I was motivated to go for with a $500+ price. However, I was so annoyed by the lack of back cover I said to heck with it. It was too late to email for a scan when I saw the listing, and people shouldn't have to ask for one at that price range anyway.
  12. Or possibly even complete and utter fabrication.
  13. But is he going to have a Hacking Sale to commemorate?
  14. I bought a book from him as well. Packaged the same way, except it was a folded FedEx box sealed with duct tape, with a Priority Mail Express envelope inside and the book bouncing around loose in the envelope, no bag or board. Luckily, it was a low grade book to begin with that wasn’t too expensive. That said, I only bought one book as a sample because it seemed obvious from the listings he didn’t know what we was doing. This looked like the first time he sold funnybooks. I didn’t want to get in too deep. Shipping was also outrageous at $10 for a single raw book, took at least a week before he even shipped it and never sent the tracking number either.
  15. why? they are too, too thin an unwieldy. The flaps don't tuck in well, and if you tape/flag them down, the corners are all over the place. Never ship in them, because they usually split and burst, and the books fly all over. I never save these when I receive books in them that have survived shipping - they go straight to the trash. Liz, I love ya but that's not the best explanation. M2 stands for Mylites2, which is a 2 mil thickness Mylar and what 99.9% of folks refer to when they say "Mylites" or "Mylar." The Mylites you are referring to are officially called "Mylites+" and are a flimsy, useless 1.42 mil thick. IIRC, before "Mylites+" came to be, they were simply “Mylites” and were even more useless at a skimpy 1 mil thickness. Link for noobs: http://www.egerber.com/
