  1. I've never read the Werewolf by Night comics, but I watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It reminded me of the Hammer Films horror movies that Christopher Lee starred in. My only criticism is that I wanted it to be longer!! I think it would be fun if they made a new episode every Halloween.
  2. Mainly I would've like to see how Captain America reacted when he ran into Red Skull again.
  3. Or have Stan Lee play old Steve Rogers which would explain his cameos as him just checking in on his friends over the years.
  4. It would've been great if Disney+ released a mini-series about Captain America returning the infinity stones.
  5. Glad to see another fan here! I think it is a great show so far. Hope you continue to enjoy it!
  6. I'm reading through Chip Zdarsky's Batman run and in issue 125 on the first few pages, it shows Alfred walking around the Batcave before Failsafe gets activated. Didn't Alfred get killed during the City of Bane story arc a few years ago, or did I miss something?
  7. I love this book. In my opinion, this issue kicks off the Bronze Age for Batman. I had the opportunity to buy this a couple of years ago but mistakenly passed on it. Now I can't find one anywhere in a decent grade and good price.
  8. Yeah I know they are messing with the timeline a bit. The rings were made in around SA 1500 but Isildur wasn't born until SA 3209 and Sauron wasn't defeated until SA 3434. Technically, Isildur and Elendil shouldn't even be in the show if the rings haven't been forged yet. As of right now, that is my biggest issue with the show so far. Overall though, I am enjoying it quite a bit.
  9. Thanks for this, I didn't know that's when the Balrog was awaken. There was a Balrog in the trailer (that wasn't the one that was on the mountain in the most recent episode), so I'm curious to see which one and when it will appear in the show.
  10. This was the only problem I had with this episode. That story was not from Tolkien's work. All of the Silmarils are accounted for, so I don't know why Gil-Galad thinks there was one in a tree on top of a mountain and the light from that went into the Mithril... I do wonder however if the elves asking the dwarves to mine more of the mithril will lead to the awakening of the Balrog in Khazad-dûm.
  11. Perhaps this discussion can be moved somewhere else and this thread can go back to discussing the episodes themselves. I haven't seen today's episode, but I'm really looking forward to watching it tonight!
  12. If anyone wants to learn more about the history of Middle-Earth without reading the books, I would highly recommend watching Nerd of the Rings on YouTube. They give brief histories of specific topics from Tolkien's work and they art they show is interesting as well. https://www.youtube.com/c/NerdoftheRings
  13. Orcs can go out in the sunlight, it is just painful for them, which is why they needed a realm of their own (Mordor) where the sunlight doesn't break through the ash. This is why the Uruk-hai were such a problem. They were basically Orcs but they could travel in sunlight without any issues.
  14. ^^^This I'm a huge Tolkien fan. I've read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings series, and The Silmarillion. I think the show is great and does a really good job of expanding the story from what Tolkien added in the appendices listed at the end of The Return of the King. If you don't like it, that's fine, but I thoroughly enjoy what they have been doing so far. If only they gave the dwarf women beards! I think it is fine that Galadriel is different from what we have seen in LOTR. This takes place thousands of years before those events, and you can't expect someone to have so much wisdom and knowledge of the world without getting out there and experiencing it. One last thing to add (and I cannot stress this enough) This doesn't change Tolkien's work. If anyone thinks an interpretation of a story ruins the original, then I encourage you to read his books if you haven't already. The original stories will always be there for you to enjoy.
  15. 3rd EC purchase for me. Picked it up at OAFCon in Norman, OK
  16. I thought that part was a little odd. Saying "Nobody gets left behind!" but then is super okay with leaving people behind... Aside from that, I thought episode 3 was really good. Enjoyed seeing Númenor for the first time.
  17. Only show that I'll be able to make it to this year. Really excited for it!
