  1. Well, one of the worlds (self proclaimed) best pressers states he keeps pressing a book until he gets the humidity right, even if that means hitting the book 7-8 times.
  2. That is still my all time favorite convention moment. Was my first show in decades and the first line I waited in that year in Baltimore. While I have been known to do stupid things, I refuse to bring a box to a show for artists to sign.
  3. I appreciate the plug, but this is not within my area of expertise.
  4. I have 3 copies of Love and Rockets #1 (1981) in 9.8. Asking $1,000.00 each.
  5. In some cases a "quick" press has all the same aspects of a full press, if a book requires no dry cleaning it gets the same treatment as a full press.
  6. In some cases it can be they are overwhelmed, but it could also be how they handle and process their workload. That's why some companies do not offer a fast track service so the books are done correctly, and the customer does not dictate the pace of the work, as you would be surprised how many collectors would take sooner rather than better (and then complain). And...as many have learned, paying more doesn't always mean you will get a better job done.
  7. This one is back on the market as the original has never paid or even replied to my last PM.
  8. You can always check on when they were graded and work backwards.
  9. Hello boyo's Looking to see if anyone has books they would be willing to trade as I try and complete my PF set. I am going to see if this works as I will make a list of duplicates I have and use them as bait to find books I need. Trades can be multiple books for one, or trade/cash deal if that works for you. Here are the books. Sub-mariner 51 CGC 9.4 OW/W Pages. Almost perfectly centered. Sub-mariner 51 CGC 9.6 White Pages. Perfect centering. Sub-Mariner #47 CGC 9.4 OW/W Pages. Perfect centering. Warlock #1 CGC 9.4 White Pages. Little back to front mis-wrap (less than 1/20 of an inch) Marvel Team-Up #1 CGC 9.4 White Pages. Nice centering. Marvel team-Up #1 CGC 9.4 OW/W pages. Marvel team-Up #2 CGC 9.4 OW/W Pages. Perfect centering. Thor #196 CGC 9.6 CRM/OW Pages. Little back to front mis-wrap (less than 1/20 of an inch) Avengers #98 CGC 9.6 White Pages. Perfect centering. Fantastic Four #129 CGC 9.6 OW/W Pages. Slight front to back mis-wrap. Where Monsters Dwell #15 CGC 9.4 White Pages. Perfect centering.
  10. Doubt it was pressed as the staples are aligned properly. Bad cut at time of printing would be my guess. The crease you see is simply a readers crease as whoever owned it early on folded the cover over and creased it while reading the book.
  11. Was able to update my registry set this weeke. I now sit in the #5 slot and am working hard to catch #4. Time may run out on me before I can catch Bob or Barton.
  12. Some can be severe and look like pieces are missing, and they get hit a little harder than the rest. In some cases the actual paper is present and can be finessed back into place.
