Star Wars 68 CGC 9.6 Wow
joeypost replied to davidking623's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Bend could be from rough handling during encapsulation. -
At that same show Frank wanted me to get in line 4-5 times because he didn’t want to sign 50 books at once. I said what if I bought you lunch. A pizza and a liter of soda later he signed all my books in one sitting. Very interest Man. Also met: Steranko Adams Trimpe Wrightson Starlin Cardy Perez

I just spoke to Thomas's wife Carmen. Appears Thomas had an asthma attack that caused him to pass out, and that led to cardiac arrest. He passed away almost immediately. The worst part was his little girl (5 years old) was the only one with him. Sharon (skypinkblu) will update us on a charity event to help alleviate any financial concerns with the funeral. More to come.

But not returned? -
Once I can speak to Carmen, I will let the birds know what the family needs. I am still in shock. I had to text him an hour or so before he passed.

Richie Muchin at the aqueduct flea market. He sold out of a white van. Always sat outside in a lawn chair reading the newspaper.

Where in the world was the Quality Control at CGC???
joeypost replied to Wally's Comics's topic in Comics General
Could have just been frustrated that he was hired to do a job, and the higher ups prevented him from doing so. Doesn’t make any sense but having been hired to help a major software firm with their SOP’s I found it laughable how hard they fought against the suggestions you were hired to make. -
Staple issue - proper term?

This can also happen if the book was pressed improperly. -
If a book is hydrated properly the first time there is no need to add any additional water onto a book to remove any stubborn bends, creases or spine ticks. You can argue semantics about water vapor, steam and humidity. I will say it again, there is a huge difference between allowing a book to hydrate properly compared to dousing it with water or blasting it with steam. I will post my results as I experiment with this new cutting edge technology. In the past, when we wanted to ruin a comic we read it and then rolled it up and put it in our back pocket.

I don’t use gaseous liquids. I don’t steam my books. I don’t spray them with water. I don’t use peroxide, alcohol or any other solvents unless I am trying to remove glue or a sticker/label. Even then it is sparingly applied only on the affected area. I don’t rub big metal balls all over my books. I don’t bath them in UV/Blue light. I do use dry erasers only. I hydrate the books properly. I press one book at a time and give it the time it needs in the press.
