  1. You're the life of the party aren't you?
  2. I'm actually more concerned about whether the tape will cause this to get a Qualifed or Restored label rather than the grade itself (which I know will be on the low end). Based on what I have seen with other books, I think it should get a Universal label, but I have never submitted a book with tape on the spine, and I'm worried. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello - I'm preparing a submission, and one of the books is CBCS graded, which I would like CGC to grade. I remember you used to have a discount for CBCS graded books, and while I know that is no longer the case, I was wondering if you will still crack them out of the slab. I'd prefer not to do it myself; it always makes me nervous, but this book is a 9.8 (according to CBCS, I know you will re-grade it) so I'm extra hesitant to try removing it without damage.
  4. Good morning, I submitted books that were marked as shipped (back to me) on 9/27/22. However, I haven't received any update on a FedEx tracking number since then. I think this is probably related to delays due tot he hurricane, but I'm a little worried that the website says it actually shipped on 9/27/22 and I haven't heard anything since then. Can someone please look into this for me? Many thanks!
  5. Thank you very much. Hope you are all safe!
  6. Is the Submission Tracking feature of the website down? I am receiving the message that I have no submissions within 8 months: I have also been receiving an error message when searching by the specific submission number for 2 days, stating "An unexpected error has occurred. Please refresh the page to confirm that you are signed in and then try again." Just a bit worried and would like to hear from CGC. Thanks!
  7. I have only been collecting about 4 years, and have only submitted to CGC a handful of times. How much do you think a detached staple affects the grade on an otherwise mid-range book? I have a comic that is probably a 6.5 except that the bottom staple is also detached from the cover. It was a clean tear (just a small slit in the cover where the staple used to be) with the rest of the book still looking like a solid 6.5. How much do you think this decreases the grade? Thank you!
  8. Thanks. That is what I received, but it was an invoice telling me that the money was due with instructions for mailing a check.
  9. Thanks. I couldn't find the charge on my credit card statement, but I definitely filled out the submission form with my credit card info and asked them to bill it. If someone from CGC is reading this thread, the invoice number is 3795196 if you could check.
  10. I received an invoice within the box containing my graded books that were shipped back to me. It says I owe the full amount for the grading + S&H. However, I provided my credit card and thought it would be billed automatically. Is there any way for me to check if this balance is actually due? Thank you,
  11. Hi folks, I'm pretty new to getting my comics graded, I joined CGC a year ago, and have only submitted about 20 books so far. Two questions that I didn't see answered on the website - If I submit a book that i still in its factory sealed polybag, will CGC grade it and slab it with the bag still in tact? Do the slabs have UV protection or any other type of protection from sun fading? I don't think so, but was curious. Thanks in advance!
