New eBay listings definitely don’t have the same crispness. Seem to be hand drawn now.

There’s already a few on CAF, with the artist duo’s names. Their style has definitely evolved dramatically over the years.

I frequently check the latest eBay comic art listings for any hidden gems that pop up. I also find it's a good spot to find some unknown artists for cheap. Two months ago I picked up a few pieces from an unknown seller named KeyskeKara on the cheap because the art was solid. They had a decently number of pieces and claimed they were unloading some backlogs of their work. At first I didn't think much of it, but over the past two months, they posted probably close to a 800 OA items on their eBay account. (You can see the past listings here.) And the more you look at the pieces, the more you notice small choices that seem weird. Like costumes aren't quite right, or weapons that don't fit the character. For instance there's a Spider-Gwen with a gun.
So I'm curious on opinions here. I finally took a closer look at the pieces I bought, but I don't have a magnifying glass to really look in depth. There is for sure some ink, some paint, and some pencil on each piece, but it seems like more of a remark. I don't really feel indents on the page around the character borders, but as I'm a casual collector, I'm not too sure. I'm not denying this could be a real artist, but I'm wondering, could someone train an AI on their art to pump it out, then just add some minor remarks? Also to this artist's credit, it seems like I'm seeing more color in the more recent postings which I would think would be harder to fake. I just can't imagine anyone drawing this many works and selling them for this cheap.
I noticed this eBay seller a few months back as well and believe the art is AI generated. I'm not knowledgeable enough to pinpoint why -- its more just my gut reaction.

Honest question here, is $3-3.5k the range I should expect to page for a basic Rom panel page by Sal?

I have a gallery of all ROM Spaceknight pages which are available for TRADE, but I'd probably want vintage MICRONAUTS (or stuff from ROM Annual 2) in exchange. Just something to consider.
Stellar ROM artwork in your collection. Curious when/where you first acquired them?

Thanks... unfortunately I have no MICRONAUTS art...

Looking for a Rom panel page with the Spaceknight featured in at least one or two panels. Doesn’t need to be splashy or a significant story moment. It’s not a grail or anything for me, just trying to hit the nostalgia button. Pls msg me if you have one available.

This is probably a really basic (noob?) question but why do I often see reverse outlines of figures on the back of comic art boards? Does it have to do with "light boxing"? Here's an example (with thanks to Heritage) on a Ron Garney JLA cover I plan to bid on...:

I'd really like to add one to my collection, featuring WW in costume or just Diana would be cool too. Please PM me.

Pretty sure it's this guy.

Thanks. I really want a finished piece. I've seen the random Thor/BRB head shot come up on eBay over the last couple years, usually priced in the $300-$600 range. (I can't help but wonder what Walt charged...) but my heart is set on something more polished.
Thanks for the Comic Art Tracker suggestion. Using that engine I just found this one that I think is stellar (signed by Walt but inked by Scott Hanna). I think I'd prefer Walt's inks over his pencils though. I'm not sure if its appropriate to ask but is the price fair for the current market?

Just curious if anyone knows how I can go about getting on Walt Simonson's commission list. I see a fair number of his commissions when I do searches on CAF (many from the last few years) and I'm a long time fan of his work (one I the many I sure...). I'm very happy to wait a lengthy period of time if necessary and I imagine it would likely be pricey. Grateful for thoughts/advice...
Thanks!

I wish there was a way to preserve this information going forward. after a few years in the wild, this will be forgotten.
It's horrendous. If I paid a dealer $9k for this piece and then found out the history soon after I'd want my money back...

Why is that bold?
Because Ed still has the original listing (@ $3k) on his site.

I'm in the start of a horror situation with a prominent Brazilian artist... Haven't waited 11 years though. Just curious, is there a name and shame thread here? I'm tempted to publicize my frustration...
