100 percent agree. Glad someone spoke up. We Deadpool 3 bump but after that all downhill. A year from now prices be  cheaper. We all thought the Marvel movie hype would last forever. I was dumb too and fell for it, so we are not alone. Next year as a collector WE be cleaning up on deals.

You got that right. Trends come and go, and liking Marvel was exactly that, a trend. Personally, I never liked any of the Marvel movies at all. For the past 14 years, all Marvel fans did was troll and destroy anything DC on the internet, just to force Marvel comic values to shoot up. I honestly have no respect for Marvel, or their fans. In fact, when I was a kid, I liked both DC and Marvel, but grew out of liking Marvel. I just felt like it was for little kids, and just bland and boring.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of value explosion we’ll see when Disney finally announces their plans for Wolverine.

Marvel comics, and their fans are the worst. We should be holding their fans accountable for the recent CGC scandal, but everyone is just blaming CGC for some reason? If anything, Marvel comics values should drop a lot. I mean, Marvel is not even good.

  3. Just goes to show how awful Marvel comics is and their fanbase. Marvel fans have been trying to push their comics hard to raise values. These same fans have been trashing and destroying anything DC for many years on the internet as well (especially DC movies). Marvel movies are the worst. Its boring kiddie trash, just like their comics.😂🤣😂🤣

  4. I have no idea what's going on down in Florida right now. I've had Modern books that have been received by them over a month ago, and they're not even in submission tracking yet. I also have economy that is expected to be almost a year? Their whole process is very archaic. Seems like CGC is stuck in the year 2001 still. There's no reason why this whole grading/encapsulating process should take as long as it does. I mean, if they can't handle in house private signings, then they should stop doing it, because they obviously can't handle the volume of books that are being sent in. I've already been getting ready to go to CBCS instead after I get all my orders back, and my membership expires. This whole process is nothing but exploitation.

I don't understand this one, how is this a negative? They charge you when your submission is about to processed and the work on your books is about to be done. If you want them to charge you as soon as they receive your books you can call them and ask them to charge you, I've had submissions charged right away because it just so happened that some of my submissions arrived just as one of my earlier submissions was about to be graded and so CGC just charged my entire balance for all my orders, even the ones that had just arrived a few days prior and wouldn't be graded for a couple months.

I've had times when weeks went by when my comics were there. Yet, no charge to my debit card. Just seems like they do everything backwards, which messes up this whole process.

Similar in principle to when you overpay your taxes each year and get a refund.  If you pay up front, you're giving CGC the money to invest it and potentially make modest returns on it.  If you wait to pay until your book is entered in the system and they being providing the paid for service, then those are extra days in which that cash is in your account gaining interest and what not.  I acknowledge, that we're talking about 60 days here (depending on CGC's TAT), but I like to carry the same principle across all financial decisions.  Same reason my credit card is set to pay on the due date and not a minute sooner.

Still, it should be my choice, and an option when placing my order. In society, we pay for most things up front.

Why do you want to pay up front for a service provided later?  Do you pay at a diner when you order or when you are done? Does your mechanic charge you when you drop your car off?

Apples and oranges. We pay up front when you buy groceries, gas, restaurants, retail products, etc. That was a terrible comparison really. Yes, I pay for my services from the mechanic up front, and by choice. I should also have that choice.

Well as long as people continue to send books and pay for the service, then I don't see why CGC would bother wasting money on accelerating their process?

I did notice CGC were recently hiring additional staff for something, so maybe they've actually started losing enough sales to people unwillling to endure the wait time?

But, I always seem to read posts from people complaining about long wait times and poor service, and then they also mention they've had like 1000 books graded/slabbed by CGC...  So why would CGC consider increasing capacity as long as customers are obviously willing to wait?

Sad but true. As with most businesses, they don't actually care about customers, they care about the money coming from our wallets.
