  1. Thanks for posting that, Jeff. Very nice as well. (thumbs u
  2. Moody is a great descriptive word for this cover.
  3. To signify the seminal role that CGC has taken in the slabbed comic industry. (thumbs u CGC pancake TATs are wicked fast! They forgot to note "1st Appearance of Flapjack" on the label Quite useless, especially now that the price has gone stratospheric after an appearance in the Agents of IHOP TV show. The plugs from some of the stars of that show haven't hurt either. Get rid of that bacon and that looks dreamy.
  4. Well, I've got 2 pieces of good news AND one piece of bad news. The good news is that you've scored all of Marie's 10 cent covers and that is nothing to sneeze at. But there are 2 more 10 cent interior-only appearances. The 2nd piece of good news is that your quest may continue. I can't recall, but I think Overstreet doesn't bother mentioning them. . . One of the appearances is in SSWS 91. Here's the bad news you've been waiting for: The other one is in: SSWS #90 I think the Pedrin guide mentions them but when it was published, Marie apps weren't anything that anybody but the completists cared about. Even in the Pedrin Guide, it's barely mentioned as a footnote. Somebody wanna confirm that? I loaned my Pedrin Guide to a friend so can't check. As I recall, she was demoted from 12 pager to backup 8 pager along with the loss of cover status. Y'know, I was going to say SSWS 91, but then I second-guessed myself and looked up the cover on comics.org. She wasn't there so I figured I must have been mistaken. It's been so long to open up a SSWS 90, that I've forgotten anything that was in there other than The War That Time Forgot. Don't remember it being mentioned in the Pedrin book.
  5. Thanks Jeffro. (thumbs u I was leaning towards DC Super Stars. Honestly.
  6. Excellent accomplishment! (thumbs u Just discovered that Marie was also in the Rock story in BB 52. You CAN teach an old collecting dog new tricks. Don't forget Our Army At War #115. There's also an issue in DC special Series or was it DC Super Stars, I can't remember at this moment. There were also a couple/few issues towards the end of Unknown Soldier where she appeared.
  7. Oh wow. I was going to go to Komico tomorrow morning. Poor guys.
  8. I've been to Carsleys before. The owner, Mike, is a friend of mine and a fellow coinee. They didn't really have the stock that I would love to see from the ideal comic shop, though. Perhaps their stock is better now.
  9. I went to 4th wall. It's no longer a comic shop. I went to Cosmix. Looks okay for new books and statues. Their trades that were on sale were books that would be hard to sell for a buck a piece. Couldn't find this Green Ham and Eggs store. Google couldn't even help me. I know enough to avoid Gerry Ross and Barry Allen, for that matter. (thumbs u I will check out Komico tomorrow.
  10. I'm in Montreal for a couple of days and wanted to visit a comic shop or two. Which ones should I check out? Which ones should I avoid? I'm near the 4th Wall and Cosmix, but can drive to any of them. Merci beaucoup!
  11. Ditch Laboratories is committed to Dangleberry excellence, and continued pancake innovation. Your CGC pancake is terrible. Simply awful. It is, in fact, the single worst pancake I have ever seen this morning. Keep practicing. How else would you know, if no one said anything...? I do it out of love. Ditch Labs thanks you for your feedback. Would you care to take a short survey to help us improve our customer service? BACK, BACK, go BACK damn internet explorer!!! Stupid popup surveys!! Second and probably final attempt...a little bit better. I used a paper piping bag. PS - It was delicious. Ditch Labratories, take a bow.
  12. Son of a I thought I had all of the Big 5 10 cent frogman covers..... But I don't have this one. Now I gotta add another book to my list Thanks a lot Mick That's a great cover, ain't it?! Super condition too! Yes, but if you go by what the guys in the "OAAW #83 in Top 5?" thread are saying and how regular comics just can't compete against values of comics that have been co-opted by Hollywood movie franchises, the OAAW 83 is a cool book, but. . .(always a BUT) Feh So. . .can't imagine what they must think of this "run-of-the-mill" war stuff without a key appearance. Worthless drek every step of the way. I have half a mind to throw it out on my curb for compost pickup tomorrow morning. Tomorrow morning?! Wait a minute...when did you post this? If you're serious, Mick, I'll send a special collection agency over there and you won't even have to lug that cr@p to the curb.....they'll do all the heavy lifting. Geez, I hope I'm not too late. You're too late. It's all gone. I've given it all up and now I'm going to become a budhist monk and live in Nepal. In all seriousness, I had a war-comics collecting friend--Alan Dulfon--who sold off EVERYTHING (including his war books) and really DID move to Nepal to become a Budhist monk.Never heard from him again. He's probably chanting something about Ice Cream Soldiers as we speak. Well, in all seriousness, practicing non-attachment is a good thing for all of us. (thumbs u Preaching it on a comic collectors forum may not be the best place to get recruits, though.

  14. Any idea who the eBay seller was? Whoever it was, they're going to jail.
