    G/QC 8/1

Called them yesterday (7/31) asking about the status and all a sudden it finally moves. May be a coincidence, may not be.

HAHAHAHAAHA. 6/7 Prescreen still sitting in GEI.......... first in first out for the win!

Just looking at peoples posts on here, it seems like if your submission does not get completed w/in a week of G/E/I then you get the “honor” of having your submission thrown into the void. Guess if they don’t complete the grading by the end of the week they just say screw those books and start on whatever came in most recently.

That’s about accurate because 25 books in the same box of that order shipped 6/19 while the others are still sitting in GEI. All 50 shipped in the same box and received and GEI same time……

I called last Wednesday and was told the books were graded and currently in encapsulation. I don’t know what’s going on, but first in first out is most assuredly not true…….. I hope the prescreen pass rate isn’t terrible. I don’t mind waiting as long as the grades are accurate, but long waits coupled with poor QC and wild grades is a no go.

I’m fearing I may be getting put into the same boat. Haven’t been waiting nearly as long as you have but starting to regret doing prescreen with how fast people’s modern slow submissions have been getting completed.

It’s a little mind boggling. I sent in 2 25 book orders in the same box. 1 turned around quickly and was shipped on 6/19. The other hasn’t moved a bit. I may call them today just to make sure something isn’t lost….😔

Does prescreen actually add days to a submission? I want to do a prescreen for some moderns, but if the wait time is a lot longer, I'll pass on it. I've been getting moderns graded in about a week recently.

It’s an absolute coin flip. I had 2 25 books prescreen orders delivered 5/30 and went to GEI on 6/7. 1 order shipped 6/19 the other is still sitting in GEI….. it’s completely random doesn’t seem to have anything to do with first in first out.

Have 2 orders in both Vintage slow boat.

One received on 7/7 is Graded and will ship Monday

Other received 6/13 is still at G/E/I

I guess it evens out in the end, but how did that 7/7 order get done in a week?

It’s nuts honestly. I’m in the same boat. 2 modern prescreen orders both GEI 6/7 one shipped on 6/19 the other is still GEI. Even crazier is the one still in GEI showed up as received first…..😂 first in first out…..

Whatever the status, things are moving at a glacial pace (at least from my perspective).  That's why I'm trying to make every effort to get what I can sent in prior to SDCC 2023.  Intakes at cons pretty much mess up the time it takes to process submissions.  But SDCC 2023, you probably won't see your submissions until leaves starting falling from the trees.

You are 100% correct. You would think they would know that and try and clear out backlog before that point, but first in first out I guess.........

    4) G/E/I, Tuesday, July 11

Hopefully GEI isn't a quagmire like it has been. My 25 modern prescreens that went GEI 6/7 are still sitting with no hope of release. Not worried or complaining yet as the 20 day plus 30 hasn't passed, but the other 25 sent in at the same time shipped out 6/19....... Doesn't make any sense.

Come On CGC!  15 Good Slabs!!  You Can Do It!  :fourleafclover:

I'm afraid GEI seems to be purgatory these days. Been sitting there since 6/7 on a modern prescreen.

My submission was delivered to warehouse and scanned on June 7th..still no entry to submission. Customer service told me it can take up to 20 days (business I guess) to open and submit  ...which is the turnaround time for Modern....so, I am concerned they lost my submission.

Unfortunantly once they get checked in it seems like a lottery if you are pushed through GEI quickly or stuck there for weeks.

my 6/8 is at G/QC for a few days now. It seems they were slammed with submissions prior to price increase and there is a bottleneck.

Mine one submission with 2 books has been stuck in G/QC for 2 days now, but my one that had 23 books in it switched from GEI to Shipped in minutes on Monday.

    No rhyme or reason..........

  12. Is anyone seeing movement on prescreen moderns GEI 6/7 timeframe? Sent in 2 orders of 25 books both recieved and GEI on 6/7 the 2nd one has finished and shipped back a week and a half ago the first one that was recieved is still GEI? not even close to the stated TAT just seems weird the 2nd order is already done and returned and the first is still stuck in GEI. First in first out.......LOL

That is just plain bad.  Especially seeing that people are getting straight econs back in less than 10 business days. I don't understand how the concept of first in/first out can be that broken with Economy level. I understand that they are working on a volume of books that people probably can't fully imagine, but they've been doing this for 20 years.  They have had 20 years to get a process going and it still seems they have to "reinvent the wheel" every few years.

I’m convinced after all these years first in first out is a myth……

  14. I might be dating myself a little with this question LOL but here goes. Back in the day (and I mean way back) Friday wasn't a "business day" during convention season. I've heard a ton of people over the years argue about that, but it was in fact true. I submitted a ton through a dealer friend for years and TAT was almost always spot on if you didn't count Fridays during con season. Between him, myself, and his customers it was ALWAYS the case. I wasn't sure if that was still true or since acquisitions, and tier changes etc.. that had changed. Just curious

  15. So from reading the last several pages of posts it looks like prescreen seems to be moving a bit faster, but I don’t see anything about consistency. Are prescreens fairly consistent on the grading or are they throwing out obvious 9.8 books? I’ve always thought that was a bit of an odd tier addition anyway as they have an incentive to hit the grade to charge more for the book. I haven’t submitted at all this year not due to TAT but the inconsistency in grading. Just wondering if prescreen was equalizing some of the consistency?

    thanks
