  1. I’ve been waiting on the ups man to deliver my CGC book all day. Two days its been loaded on the truck and out for delivery and two days its gone right back to hub. This is torture!!!
  2. Acknowledge my perfect bid on page 24.....i expect an extra sweet gif for having ignored it......
  3. Does the inevitable Canadian penny that the machine rejected count? Cursed maple leaf...
  4. Let’s start with the not terrible. First ever sketch cover got a 9.8, yay! Newton rings all over the face of sketch though On to my copy of x-men Omega I've had since I was a kid. 9.6, not bad, Its what I was expecting. This book is more for sentimental value and to grab sigs on. Unfortunately it’s mislabeled...worst part is I caught the mis label when it was flagged sent for grading and emailed cgc to ensure it was corrected prior to slab. After the email, it updated to the right title in my account shortly after. Apparently it did not get corrected in the process where it matters...not sure how this got past quality control. I suppose i need to pay to send it back now?... Not a great first box back from CGC, hoping my others fair better....
  5. Is this the 20x sig? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352831592907 To each his own but this made me cringe in so many ways. That poor cover ><. Also did Artgerm even do interior art for 1000? I thought he only did a completely different cover variant?
  6. Fast Track Sig Economy: Received: 11/6 SFG: 12/4 Finalized/Imaged/Shipped: 12/6 NYCC Sig Series Modern Received: 10/30 SFG: 12/4 Finalized/Imaged/Shipped: 12/6 First timer submissions coming back. Still have a bunch from NYCC waiting for pressing. I've told myself i'm not looking at the grades until I open the box, lets see if I can hold out..
  7. My card just got charged for the ccs pressing service. I suspect that means they are pressing before signing. Would make sense to try to keep the promised turnaround. I hope they are careful with the signings!
  8. Whooops! I just figured all the extra pages were in case you were sending 700 things to be signed . I only sent the first page back. It arrived yesterday and is already posted on my account. I am sure it will all work out
  9. I have came to the same conclusion as a buyer. I no longer buy moderns on ebay as almost every purchase listed as nm+ is not. I believe many sellers are people who get a bunch of copies to sort through to find the 9.8s then dump the rest on ebay as nm+. I got sick of getting books with obvious damage. The whole site is super shady for moderns. I never returned any as I always felt this was the risk I took. My LCS almost never has nm+ (assume its the way they handle books). I’ve started using a few online retailers with some mixed results (which so far I've found to be my best option) Trust me when I say that ebay is a placed to get screwed as a buyer more than a seller. I assume most people are like me and take a lick without raising a stink, especially when the listing is cleverly worded to put the responsibility on the buyer or the pictures are carefully taken to hide flaws or make it difficult to see damage.
  10. Yeesh, seeing that makes me want to rip the back covers off before grading. So much nicer than looking at an ad on the back!
  11. I know they are still unpacking NYCC submissions from 10/4. I have a number of invoices and the first finally showed up as received. I think they are slammed right now.
  12. As a fellow Dan, this is mighty tempting ;-) Reminds me a bit of my only Stan Lee signature. I was working on a marvel game and had the opportunity to send something to be signed with a request. I was doing all of the physics and destruction in the game so i dug out my x-men hologram card set and sent it off for a signature. My notes said to just mention my work in some neat way. What i ended up with is: “Dan, thanks for the damage! -Stan Lee” Totally worth it as it makes my giggle every-time i see it. It sounds like i rear ended his car or something....haha
  13. Your missing the point. The SS label essentially gives a virtual guarantee that the signature is authentic and was done by the artist. Anyone could trace an existing signature and apply it to another book and then take it to an artist to “verify it” In your case. I don’t get why people are so bent on trying to find a back door to getting their unwitnessed signatures to be considered witnessed...just keep the book in a nice top loader and enjoy it. If you’re buying books with unverified signatures, DO NOT let the seller factor it into the price and you will be fine. This label exists to define books that were WITNESSED by a cgc employee while signed, those are the rules and they are not bendable. Now if you feel they should offer a different type if label such as their competitors do, feel free to suggest it to them, but it’s unlikely they will do so as it would devalue the existing system.
  14. Nice, yeah we did have some similarities. Out of curiosity, have any of your submissions shown up in your account yet?
