  1. Thanks for the feedback. It was a screening for restoration on the unlimited value. It looks to be at scheduled for grading status now. Hopefully it wouldn't sit for 30 days in that status for a UV. Thank you!

  2. Hello, checking the current status of two submissions- one shows scheduled for grading, sub#4323341 which is an unlimited value tier. And the other is in grading/encapsulation, sub#4324489 which is a modern fast track tier. Both submissions look to be right at the current TAT mark. Just wanting to make sure nothing is being held up, i.e. with billing. Got billed for the modern, but I don't think I've been billed for the unlimited value just yet. Any feedback you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  3. Hello, submission #4076288 was received in the system on 6/7. Current fast track economy TAT is 26 days. This is past the current TAT. Are you guys getting a bit backlogged? Just curious. Thanks!

Well I am just like everyone else I have books that have been there for 5 to 6 weeks now and some longer and others just getting there. I also understand that when you hire 500 new employees or however many it has been this turn around is not instantaneous. Everyone has to be trained and verified to make sure they can do the job correctly and efficiently. Do you really want someone coming in and saying yeah I can grade a book and handling your $5000 and up comic book and they literally have no background. Yes I can grade a book by looking at it because I have picked many books out for Hero Initiative to send off for grading after large signings. But do I want to handle your books no not really. I love what they do it has changed the face of buying and selling comic books. Now I did screw up one of my shipments. I ended up switching to another box and the Walk Through was written on the original box and I forgot to write it on the new box. So I have a Walk Through that has been sitting there for 5 weeks now. Hopefully they will open the box soon.

Do you really want someone to be rushing your books through the system because you are in a hurry. Anyway if you want your books graded this is what you have to deal with so be patient and it will happen.  I am one of the most impatient people I know but I understand business and lead times is one of them. I have parts I supply and they may take upwards of 40 & 50 weeks. So 10-12 weeks not so bad.

I deal in supply chain and logistics...and dealing with lead times on the daily is the norm. If you are going to increase rates on your submissions, then you need to ensure you are providing the service. We are seeing lead times increasing as rates increased, this is backwards. And I totally understand we should all be patient, but customers have a right to be perturbed when they are being charged more now to submit, with very poor TAT. If CGC is so backed up...they have some other options to help them catch up than just hiring and training a ton more employees. 1. Cut the signings. Stop them. This has to take up a ton of extra time. 2. Completely stop taking submissions until they are caught up.

And here's an idea, and I know another card submission/grading site does this....but have a submission lotto of sorts...where you place your submission in the system, and let the site notify you that you can ship your books to them so you, the customer, can receive accurate TAT's. If you create your packing slip, CGC can send out a notification and the green light when you can ship to them (you would be in a line or list)....as opposed to your books just sitting for literally months now before they even get to them. Just a thought and a rant....

Based on what they keep saying correct. You would start counting from the day the post office stated it was delivered not the day they open it. So if it was 42 business days since they received it then you would count another 12 business days I mean 32 business days. If you fast tracked it. Sorry using voice to text on this one LOL. What pisses me off is that the fast track numbers keep increasing exponentially. First it was 29 days, then 30 Something, then 40 than 50 and we are already up to 74. It was 66 last week I think. It’s very irritating as a person sending in the items. Before the difference between fast track and regular was easily a month of time now it is just a few days so what is the point.

Spending all that extra money on fast-track like I am doing, only to be told the TAT has increased a ton....sucks.

  7. Maybe I am mistaken, but I swore TAT starts when the package has been delivered to CGC....is that correct? Or does TAT start when the package has been entered as "Received."

I swore I saw something recently that TAT starts when your package is delivered...it may sit 2 to 4 weeks before it opened and entered....but that timeframe is counted into the total TAT. I could be wrong...

If anyone could clarify, that would be awesome. Thanks.

  8. Hello, I noticed something in the Q&A about the new policy changes going into affect on the 28th....and I noticed no more CCS Pre-screen services for modern books. So, does this mean there will no longer be a modern pre-screen service at all? Or does it just deal with CCS and CGC will still offer a 25 book minimum modern prescreen? Thanks!

  9. Thank you! To piggy-back on this question real quick- If I happen to have a book that I want submitted Express grading, but I also have some modern fast passes that I want to ship with that Express- in the same package to CGC. As a customer, we are directed to write EX for Express on the outside of the package so it can be opened at priority. If that box is opened for that Express tier graded book, do the other modern books in that package get placed into the system as well in that case (received)? Or are they packaged back up and put somewhere else, and are opened at a later date. Thanks!

  10. Hello, I have a modern group that was delivered to CGC on the 22nd of March, and a 2nd group of economy books delivered on April 1st. Can you disclose where you are at with entering books into the system right now?

    Thanks!

  11. My personal experience, I would wait. I had this recently happen to me and it was almost 2 weeks until the books showed delivered (priority mail too), but it gave me that same message via USPS. Normally, CGC has possession of the package already, it just may not have been scanned in. And you will see it update soon. I would not schedule a redelivery just yet. Keep checking the package status daily. Just my opinion.

Good morning, thanks for your message.

CGC does not collect the mail from the post office directly.  It is all delivered to our office.  Due to a very high volume of mail, it is taking longer than normal for the post office to deliver all of the packages to us here.  You will see that status change once it has been delivered.

As the packages are sitting in that status for longer now, it generates that automated email you received stating your package would be sent back.  You do not need to do anything; the package will still be delivered as scheduled.

    Thanks!

Also, I had a 2nd modern submission that was shipped days after this one, and it so happens that submission was updated as "Delivered," per USPS. So, that's the only reason I am a bit anxious, but I am sure the package will make it to CGC or you possibly already have it.

  13. Quick question(s): Does CGC accept packages on Sundays via USPS? Do you have a drop off area or do you have someone on Sunday who grabs packages? I have a Modern Submission that has now changed to the USPS delivery status, "Delivery Attempt: Action Needed." My assumption is that the package was delivered, but not scanned in? The tracking shows that it made it to the P.O. Box on 01/31 at 1:56PM, and it the status shows "available for pick-up." I believe I had this happen one time before, and the submission was safely in the possession of CGC and entered into the system. However, just hoping you guys have possession of it. Thanks! Available for Pickup
    SARASOTA, FL 34230
Your item arrived at the SARASOTA, FL 34230 post office at 3:56 pm on February 6, 2021 and is ready for pickup.

These books should be graded when, July?

Yep. I had a batch of books that were delivered to the P.O. Box on 01/31, and now the status from USPS is stating, "delivery attempted." I have only had this happen one other time, but my assumption is that CGC has the package, but it wasn't scanned as delivered. The last time it happened, CGC updated their site with the books being received (finally), and I am not sure if USPS ever updated their status.

  15. I would file a complaint...I've had to do this before and it gets a bit ridiculous when books either arrive damaged, or are damaged at CGC- and then still graded. The last time this happened, CGC did attempt to make it right by cracking, pressing and regrading the books. However, the damage was already done. I bomb proof package my books, and it has happened on a few rare occasions with a couple of submissions.
