  1. Just got around to checking the notes. No mention of the writing on cover or the small stain on the inside cover. moderate creasing to covermoderate spine stress lines to coververy light tears to cover
  2. 5.0/5.5. I'm leaning lower, but maybe gets a little credit for the black being largely in good shape except for the 1 corner
  3. 3.5/4.0, but I think the latter is more likely
  4. 0.5. Too much tape to get to 1.0 IMO
  5. looks pretty darn solid. Maybe a slight stacking curl, or that could just be the lighting. >9.2
  6. I feel like I've seen that kind of issue before, but IDK what causes it. I'll give it a very uncertain 8.0
  7. High presenting 4.0, maybe 4.5. From what I've seen, it doesn't actually matter if a stain looks bad or not. The area it encompasses automatically drags things down.
  8. I've seen your birth year in your profile. We're at that age
  9. Posted the raw book earlier. Now with a grade.
  10. Me too. Only 3 on the census, inc. 1 signature. My plan is to get this signed by Starlin. It's so hard to figure out how these will be treated b/c there aren't any comps to examine.
  11. As a Howard the Duck fan (for some reason), I am very, very happy with this. All the Fear books came to me cheap including several Mark Jewelers. Just my luck this is just a plain old copy
  12. small amount of color touch on top & bottom front coversmall amount of glue on bottom spine I had no reason to suspect restoration here. Even at that, it feels like this should be a purple label with a higher grade. I have a 6.5R that the color touch is way more obvious (bleed through) and this book looks better period. IDK. Definitely not worth fighting with CGC about it, but still.
  13. Just a PSA that you are more likely than not to (eventually) see a CGC grade on the things I post.
  14. I'm giving this to @Mars76 over @grendelbo b/c he bullseyed it. Nothing here has changed how much I like this cover.
  15. I also had this lower. A classic Spider-Man bump? Very happy with this.
  16. It's a little less than helpful that CGC's notes don't indicate what was the most critical defect. It certainly won't resolve the distributor ink disagreement. But I *think* the cover tanning, which I didn't notice and no one mentioned, might be what kept this lower than what people were thinking. I think this book looks better than a 7.0 in the holder. light cover tanninglight creasing to covermoderate distribution ink spine
  17. Some of you were more optimistic than I was, but this beat my expectations by quite a bit. Really happy with this. I wish I remember exactly how much I paid for this in ~2000, but it was no more than $100.
  18. Awaiting a @grendelbo straight shooter GIF. I love this cover.
  19. @MrRoboto the only person who speculated as high as 7.5. Personally, I think this copy looks better than the one from the last grading contest with the dark sun shadow.
