I have a ASM 66 that looks to be a 7.0 but the back cover has a razor slice about 4 inches long in the middle of the cover, no pages are affected. How would that affect the grade?
-
Yes,i would fast track them.
i would think that with so many hundreds of books being graded monthly someone would have some knowledge of any trends on this subject.

I think what i'm asking is since i don't have access to overstreet info what is the probability these books in that grade get bumped up if i send them economy?
-
I have an FF 52 and an iron man 55I think both come back between a 6.0 to a 7,what tier should it be mailed in economy or standard?
-
i have a msp #32 that i believe grades out no less than an 8.5 however there is a clean 1/2 inch vertical tear on the cover top left about one inch from the spine.I'ts very clean but how will it affect the grade?

Thanks,to further complicate the matter I just acquired a iron man #55 in about an 8 so do I send both in under economy? Or will the IM 55 get bumped up?Also have to consider shipping in the equation since I woild be sending in one economy and one standard.I feel inclined to send both in economy and if they bump the IM up I'll just deal with it.

I have a ASM #300 that I think is at least a 9.0 how do I send it in value or economy? How do the determine the value?

Any thoughts on marvel limited labels.I am sending in some books to be graded and was thinking not on keys but on some minor keys such as ASM #100,#316 or CAP #180 the might look nice.
Thoughts?

Any thoughts on marvel limited labels?Do you think they hurt the value.I'm sending in a few to be graded and my thinking was not to do on keys but on minor keys like ASM #100,#316 and cap #180 they might look nice with it.

You're welcome! It sounds like you may benefit from the "Spare a Grade" forum...
In general, a book with one staple pulled through the cover will usually knock the grade down below a Very Fine grade, or end up receiving a Qualified grade if it's a very high grade example (it sounds like your book would fall into the first category). So if the book looks like a 6.0, I'd be thinking a 5.0 or 5.5 would be an appropriate adjustment. Also, please keep in mind that if any of the wraps are detached, it may also affect the grade.
It sounds like you're doing pretty well so far except for that FF #52. Amazingly enough, many books from that era have trimming or resto. It's not uncommon at all...
Ok thanks

If I may, I would like to inquire about your description of the bottom staple on your Cap #117. Exactly how is the staple detached? Usually, the cover or pages are detached from the staple, not the other way around...
yes, the cover is detached from the bottom staple.these books have been in my possession for over 40 yrs bagged and boarded for most of the time I've decided to have the keys cgc rated and sell the rest raw.i had a group books graded with cgc for the first time with good results, about 20 books (late silver to early bronze) between 7.5 to 9.2.surprisingly my ff 52 came back 7.0 restored for three sides trimmed ?although I bought this book used it was in 1974 and in a bargain rack.who would be trimming that book?so I'm on my second round of books and trying to get a feel for it.Thanks
