Technically, there is not a single scenario where that isn't true.

I sent this book in to CCS and requested a press screening to see if it was a good candidate didn’t hear back from them which meant they felt it was and proceeded to get pressed and graded.even though they say they grader doesn’t know the previous history of the book I have my suspicions and with that loose paper on the lower corner of the spine and the earlier statement in this post that “keep in mind grading is a little tighter at the moment”I didn’t want to have the book come back lower.

  2. Do I re-grade after restoration removal I just received the book back after it was graded and pressed with C-1 two spots of color touch on cover.would like to send it in for restoration removal,do I have to Have it graded again when sending in.thanks

  3. Pressing by CCS! maybe at signing it happened but I assure you that was not there.if anybody remembers when this came out it was a knife fight to get first print  copies from you LCS I got two books and never opened, virtually identical to My eye. After all these years decide to send one in got a 9.8 and then I saw the announcement of the signing. who knows maybe I got lucky with a 9.8 ,This one though looks worse in person now! just real utter disregard for somebody’s valued property, very disappointing!

  4. I have before pictures of the 9.8 on PGM thread I do not have pictures of this book, when the first one came back 9.8 I was confident with the second one.opening this box up was like a gut punch.

I have been sorting through and grading my collection for the last couple of years all books purchased new and used by myself starting in early 70’s most of my books being late silver early bronze selling some non-keys on eBay and grading some keys.

when this book was purchased the store only allows you to buy two first printings I also bought a couple of second prints which I sold on eBay (pictures attached) . the thing is I’m taking this personally having purchased these books, having them in my possession for 35 years seeing a 35th anniversary signing sending them in-and then having someone there treat the book like their garbage. I can’t imagine why someone would open this book up and caused that damage, it would almost be more understandable if it was shipping or encapsulation damage.like I said knowing the condition it was sent in as and how it came back was like a gut punch.

if somebody out there has had some experience and can navigate me as to if there is any recourse for me any information would be appreciated. Thanks
