Did your Dad ever search out back issues when just starting out or were purchases only off of the news stand?

What I like reading lately are the stories behind the comics. We're learning a lot about the GA creators that make for a great read.

I prefer the flag cover. I think it is 24. But, this one isn't too shabby.

Those are great. Are they framed?

My only complaint is that he shipped them flat. Now, they just sit on the floor since I don't know how to put them together.

I recall reading that the smoother side of the Gerber boards is for the comic.

Hard to believe the 9.8 hasn't been snapped up. Maybe the market has just pulled back too much for people to afford?

I missed the last one, Action 2, all the way. Awesome cover, significant comic.

I would also take the GL, crack it out, and straighten the microchamber paper hanging from the bottom.

1969 - born

1980 (early) - discover Archie comics

1980 (late) - discover Flash

1981 - purchase comics from this 7-Eleven

1982 - family moves near Ralph's Comic Corner, heavy buying of DCs and independents

1982 - Attend my first San Diego Comic-Con

1983 - Spent a lot of money on a Flash #108, split spine

1984 - Comic buying slows as I get into high school

1989 - Attend San Diego CC again with my future wife in tow

1990 - out of the hobby

2005 - my Mom moves and I find 3 long boxes, I'm back!

2006 - I create ComicSeeker.com

2007 - More than 25 years after starting, I complete Flash 105-350

2008 - Showcase 4 and bit by the Golden Age bug

Since I haven't yet read the stories on either of those two I would take the classic Adv cover.
