Oooh, I really wanted that GIC #80, and didn't think my $250 would hold up very long. lol I was going to up my bid to try to win it, but I pretty much put a bid in on every one of those comics, so I was scared that I'd win too much.

    Andy

Oh, man I put about 15 bids in as well. I went on a walk and got up to 2 m.p.h but I was sweating. If I had won them all I'd be selling my roomates computer. I'll post em when I get them.

  2. Yikes. I was hoping to snag one of these, but obviously that didn't happen.

War is sure ice-cold. doh! Looks like that GIC 91 sale wasn't an isolated bit of insanity.

I thought I was going to win those GI Combats for about ten seconds. I couldn't justify. But I did win a slew of OOAW's. $600 is ridiculous though that cover is pimpin.

  3. The thing that surprised me most about the Haunted Tank sales was definitely G.I. Combat #91... I didn't see that going over $500.... completely missed that one.

What do you all think was the thing that made it so appealing...

    1.) First Haunted Tank cover

    2.) Ultra-person_without_enough_empathyin' Heath Greytone

3.) Rarity of that particular issue

    4.) All of the above

Man, I'm glad I got my copy already.

    Shep

Shep, that price killed me. The cover is beautiful. A cgc 8.0 copy sold on ebay not two years ago for around $150-$220. I still need mine. I won the 80 page giant Sgt Rock issue! Yay! I bid too little on too many books and got very few.

  4. You traded for that! 893whatthe.gif

Do you still have both kidneys? stooges.gif

    This was Mick's undercopy. 893whatthe.gif

Awesome! I want an overcopy so later I can have an undercopy. What did you have to trade? Great haul for you today. Mike

One of my least favorite DC war covers.

You know, I always liked this one... don't ask me why. The border treatment is so weird...

    Mick, as always, nice books!

Love it! I have never seen it before. I want it.

  6. It is brutal. I simply cannot compete and do not think a lot of the books are worth the money and would be hard to turn around if needed for a profit. How much do you think the 83 will fetch? $1700ish methinks. The #45 is hard to say because I never see it around at all. Man I love war books.

  7. I saw the Heritage auction stuff too. I think we're all salivating over the same thing(s). It will no doubt be a monster, large-money auction.

Looks like they all came from the same source. Wonder who?

GREAAAAAT-looking stuff. Now all I have to do is find a bag 'o cash somewheres.

    Shep

Sincerely, their auctions garner the most interest and money paid for books. I know I cannot afford more than one of the books but would like any single one of them. If you guys have your sights on any of them I wont bid them up. The GI Combat 87 is gonna be interesting. I dont have a 91 nor the first gunner and sarge so those will probably be the ones I will bid on.... and then lose.
