  1. I had to buy a new vehicle for sister last month so my finances will be severely limited for the next 5 years (but I hope to cut it down to 4). Thus, I will have to drastically cut back on my commission collecting for the foreseeable future (unless it is too good to pass by). Otherwise, I hope to add some more Official handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition villain pages to my collection. Keeping it simple…for now.
  2. …just re-read the contest rules and participation ended last night. Oh, well. I guess there’s always next year…
  3. Published: 1986 Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition #8 Page 57 Mr. Hyde (Urinating) by John Romita Jr. and Joe Rubinstein
  4. I also never knew the man nor got to meet him but I greatly admire his willingness to still meet with and greet as many fans as he given his limited time. As an artist, he was undoubtedly great but as a person, he will be immeasurable. I only wish I had gotten in the art commission game sooner to be able to get my usual Vega/Baroness requests from him.
  5. I got in this 12” x 18” Baroness commission by Eddie Nunez today:
  6. I got in this 8” x 11 1/2” Vega and Baroness commission by Paul Davidson:
  7. I broke my original art dry spell recently with the purchase of The Interloper by Don Perlin and Josef Rubinstein at Comic Art Live last week: As it appears in The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition issue # 6: It is not a villain per my usual collecting habit but it is obscure. This is the first piece I’ve purchased with the intent to trade for another (OHOTMU villain) should it arise.
  8. My recent dry spell of commissions ended today with the arrival of this 11” x 14” Vega commission by Steve Rude:
  9. It's been a while since I got in a commission but I just got this 7 1/2" x 9" Vega by Tim Tyler:
  10. I got this 11” x 17” acrylic paint commission by Giancarlo Caracuzzo as a birthday gift for a friend of mine. It’s an homage to the motivational cat poster featuring a couple of her favorite characters, Grogu and Wonder Woman:
  11. I got in a few items in today. First I got in an 8” x 10” Baroness commission by Sorah Suhng: Then I received this 11” x 17” Baroness and Vega sketch by Karl Janot as a “thank you” for my patience: Patience for waiting for my latest 11” x 17” cover homage commission of Thor #359 featuring Vega and The Baroness: The original cover as it appears:
  12. I got in this 8” x 10” watercolor commission by Dan Brereton. It’s not quite The Baroness but a reasonable facsimile:
  13. I got in this 9” x 12” Vega commission today by Alexis Ziritt:
  14. Love the Dead Milkmen reference…if there was one with the title of this commission.
  15. I got in an 8 1/2” x 11” Baroness commission by Simon Bisley that was 2 years in the making (but was worth the wait):
  16. Personally never met Alex as I have only communicated with him via e-mail but he seemed very friendly and receptive. And a big thanks for helping to convince him to do more traditional artwork! Love this piece he did for me as well as the Vega he did a few years ago.
  17. It’s been a bit since my last commission but I got in an 11” x 17” Baroness commission by Alex Ogle a couple of days ago:
  18. No problem! I wanted to give it some time during Comic Art Live but I assumed (correctly it seems!) that other people would be interested in it as well once the event went live to non-CAF members as it would not last long. So, it was a bit more than I wanted to pay for it but overall I am glad I jumped on it to add to my collection of second, third and fourth string villains.
  19. I got in my first Comic Art Live purchase today. I added to my list of Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition minor villains with this Daredevil B-lister, The Owl: And as it appears in the comic:
  20. I’ve been meaning to get another cover homage commission as well as a commission from former Iron Man artist, Bob Layton so I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and got this 11” x 17” piece from him: The original Iron Man #50 cover:
  21. Really? That is very interesting. I thought I was the only one with a Vega theme.
