  1. Some of the ones I have reprint the original cover, some do not. I was able to determine which copies reprinted which U.S. published issues that way. Late 70s DC.
  2. I'll have to pull the book when I get home to check -- it seems more called out as a color break on the scan than I recall looking at it in my hands. There's no spine roll.
  3. I really love this cover . . . let me know what you think. thanks!
  4. Would appreciate opinions on this book -- thanks!
  5. Boy, the upper part of the front cover looks nice, but the spine is shot -- looks like someone roll-folded the book to read it (I used to do that as a kid!). And the back cover is filthy. I think with a clean and a press you might get a 4.0 on a good day. As is, I think 3.0.
  6. Looks like a couple of nicks above the Marvel logo box, and is that scuffing on the spine below the lower staple in the closeup? 9.2.
  7. I was going to say 4.0 but then I noticed Zip's comment about the staple. Also the spine looks chewed up. 3.5.
  8. I have some foreign language comics I found in my boxes... was going to toss them but thought I'd ask here and see if there is any value. I think some are Finland, some Brazil. Example attached.
  9. Yes, pleased with the books. Question for you -- how did you value the pence copy? I am thinking approx. 60% of cents value for equivalent grade.
  10. Were included in a group lot from HA along with about 30 other Silver Age Marvels. . . overall paid about $19 per book all in (premium, tax, shipping). Most all came in higher quality that I expected (especially the Silver Surfers), which was a nice surprise. (Although included in that lot was a Not Brand Echh 1-13 run.)
  11. Purchased some pre-Code unslabbed Frontline Combats and crime books. Items well packed, quick ship. Good communication, would do business again.
  12. Picked this up from an 80-year old lady around the corner . . . she had her iPad open to GoCollect.com when I walked in!! Interior is cream to off-white. No hidden tears, Lower staple not great but not loose. Thanks!
  13. Thanks. Yeah, it really was a nerdy comic kid's dream. Even though it was 30 years ago, the memory still makes me happy. Meeting comic legends, softball games in Central Park against Marvel (followed by being treated to hamburgers and beers by the editors), the free comics, being able to pull books from DC's comics library (they had mechanized movable stacks like you see in some public library, and every comic DC ever published was in a bound volume -- although I think someone had ripped out and stolen Action Comics #1).
  14. Got these (and some others) today from an 80-year old lady around the corner who responded to my solicitation on Nextdoor.com . . .
  15. Finds today at a local antiques center . . . After 20% bulk discount and additional "cash" discount, prices not bad.
  16. Picked up at a local antiques place today -- classic John Romita cover.
  17. I should add that everybody at DC was really nice. Bob Rozakis (The Answer Man!) was a great guy -- he basically ran the production department (where the colorists and other on-site artists worked). Karen Berger was awesome, took me to lunch with Bernie Wrightson when he came in one day. Bob Greenberger was really nice-- kind of like an ubernerd who was living his dream job. There as a mild-mannered junior editor, Jon Peterson, who shared the office with Bob, and who was funny and very nice. Denny O'neil was kind of aloof. Overall, it was a great experience -- I got a lot of free comics for 6 months straight, from DC, Marvel and all the Indy's. Sometimes I look back and wish I had gone back into the business after college -- the law is a lot more boring!
