  1. Now see that is what separates your xmen 1 from the other 6 MILLION copies that were sold. I have ten of those copies 3 of the double fold and 2 of each of the other covers. Not worth trying to sell. However, your cover fold with those sigs is now what 1 in 5000? now it goes for 400 to 500. Yellow label all the way. make it unique. that is my thinking Would you take a wolverine #1 at a 10 grade verses a hulk 181 9.8. Only 3 of the 10 grades exist! that is a tough choice if you have cash and want a unique item to brag about.
  2. Hey Adam, Lets make sure are kids hook up after we get them back... Ill have you over for a beer as we watch our grand kids....
  3. To me, after learning about claremont's involvement, its a no brainer. again Romita sr on Hulk 181 uncredited head drawing, but people get it done. im one of them. I agree the stan lee on everything is a little nuts. Pressing the book when its in the hands of one place is fine with me 90 dollars to press, sign and grade with a yellow label is too much to resist.
  4. Im glad I was included at some point in my own thread...
  5. With this one will a press help? Yes. I have pressed a few things and I see where it helps and where it does not. I have a hulk 181 that was 6.5 when I sent it in the first time before cgc and ccs were the same company. When I learned of the pressing I sent it in again and it came back an 8. My GSXMen has no color breaks on the spine and has a few paper bumps and indentations that a press would definitely remove. Hell my fat rear end would probably improve it. Now will it get a grade bump? Don't know. But I don't see it hurting
  6. I don't know whats worse... the book. Or the fact that it was stabbed. Hope u didn't spend money on the pressing...
  7. Leftovers from yesterday's Greek Easter for me
  8. OHHHHHHHH u got me... Never new how educational the CGC boards are...
  9. I love how the turn around time for a$ 20 press is 6 weeks with a CGC private signing yet a regular press takes 5 months!!!!!
  10. HOLY POOP.... IT WAS!!! According to the articles he was an intern at the time, then he became the writer after that.
  11. This I agree with. My first books were Amazing spider mans. Post romita SR, but I would add him to all my ASM books
  12. reading one of the articles... I NEVER new X-men was cancelled for 6 years before this issue
  13. Roy thomas is still around. going to add him along with my hulk triplets 180, 181,182
  14. it was a crona virus discount, otherwise i wouldnt have dumped the stimulus check on it. the fact that it was never pressed turned out to be a bonus. Those other ones are too much for my blood
  15. maybe with inflation you could change it to months...
  16. I guess you can say its Claremont's Cameo....
  17. I did. cool story but your right no credit for the man
  18. If Claremont made a contribution to the book then I will get it signed. Just like Romita SR on Hulk 181 Im in. Your the best ADAM
  19. Snagged a 9.4 graded Giant Sized X-men 1. As exited as i am about finding out that it wasn't pressed and what will/can happen after pressing, the question is, would you add a chris claremont sig to this? I dont want to turn it into a debate of sig fans vs non sig fans... I am strictly talking about the financial aspect of a long term investment. I know he did nothing for the book but obviously he is as close to a mr x-men just like romita SR is mr. amazing spiderman.
  20. cant even break even with 1993 dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Beavis-and-Butthead-1-Signed-COA-Parker-Lackey-Mint-Sealed/202955000673?hash=item2f410f8b61:g:64cAAOSwkA5ehzrX
  21. so do I, , but the fact that I paid 30 in '93 dollars is what slaps me across the face...
  22. add the amount you paid when adding a book... makes it hurt more that we all know...
  23. makes sense for them. must be one hell of a bill to shell out for that much
