Al Jaffee is still alive.

He was a great artist and legacy of the Golden Age, and by far one one of the great inkers of the Silver Age. Especially when it came to gracing the work of luminaries like Carmine Infantino, Sheldon Moldoff, and Gil Kane. It’s still my favorite piece of original art that I currently have!

Here’s a stunning title splash page that I have up for sale done by Jackson “Butch” Guice! The story behind the book that this page is associated with is that Amy Grant sued Marvel Entertainment Group in the U.S. District Court, not for image copyright (as this was the property of the photographer) but for the association of her image with the occult, which, it was argued would affect her standing in the Christian music community. $1650

I’ve already acknowledged the fact that not everyone has an eye for this sort of thing. I know mistakes can happen and things can slip through the cracks.

The Killing Joke

Exactly! At first glance, I immediately took notice of the grade. The font and spacing was very off.

Well yeah, I understand that. But wouldn’t you thoroughly examine and look over a book of that significance? Graded or raw? I mean.. it’s a Hulk #1 in a CGC 6.5 and that’s a lot of money to be dropping on a fake copy.
