  1. Maybe a good candidate for pressing? Disregard the second panel. Wrong book.
  2. Guys, It was a bad idea to make my first post about a scripted comic book show and general valuations of comics. I have had a blast looking through my recently discovered collection. While I plan on selling some, the more I flip through, I find myself wanting to hang some in the Man Cave. Here is a pic of my favorites. The GI Joe in the middle is worthless because of the grade but priceless to me.
  3. Good point. I have mostly modern so didn't think about the lack of barcode. Now that I think of it, I had a lot direct editions too as I had a subscription service. Hopefully CLZ can identify comics other ways as well.
  4. Looks like a lot of you guys are inputting manually into Excel. Can anyone comment on how the process went when the CLZ app was used? How was the list when imported into a spreadsheet? I foresee the advantage of scanning the barcode to be far less cumbersome then my hunt and peck skills on a spreadsheet.
  5. LOL...it wasn't uphill but it was a tiny BMX bike 3 sizes too small and a bent fork from not nailing a sweet jump properly. Did you use a service or enter manually? I would think scanning via the Collectorz app would be far less painful.
  6. Maybe 1,500 doesn't sound like a lot to you. I beg to differ. Close to 1,000 of those were purchased when I was between the ages of 10-16 years old. I rode my bike just about every weekend 6 miles to my local shop and spent every dollar I had.
  7. This is a great discussion. I recently rediscovered my collection and was amazed at what some comics are selling for. Obviously key issues demand a premium but what I was amazed at were the comics I purchased purely as "Gag" issues like Spider Ham: Peter Porker #1 and Beavis and Butthead #1 now sell for a premium.
  8. This aggression will not stand, man. Good advice Dude. I don't have any anonymousity towards anyone. I didn't try to come off that way. Sorry if it was misinterpreted. I'm just trying to find a rug that ties the room together.
  9. Thanks. Do auction houses like Heritage accept submissions of collections in this format? I recently inquired with them on a sale of collection and they told me to send them a list in spreadsheet format which I don't have the time to populate. This looks like it would be more point and click.
  10. I recently decided to sell some of my collection and am trying to figure out the least painful way of recording it. An Excel spreadsheet would take forever to populate around 1,500 comics. Is there an application or service that might make this task easier?
  11. I usually don't like to talk to any of my childhood idols. I have found that it usually is a letdown. I would like to get a Klaus Janson autograph though. Has anyone met him?
  12. Thanks for the thoughtful response. It looks like I was looking at the auctions with signed copies. Amazing that a signature adds that much extra value.
  13. I thought I asked a legitimate question. Nice to receive such a warm welcome. I have reason to believe that I have been collecting comics before some of you making snide comments and memes were born...1979.
  14. No, completed and sold. I looked back and there are even higher sales. From the responses it looks like eBay is fairly land but the prices sold are crazy.
  15. I haven't looked at the values of comics in many years. I started binging on comic book men on amc and noticed a Batman Killing joke was sold to the stash for $10 in an episode around 2012. I recently checked the price on eBay and it was $300+. Is eBay a fairyland or has the market moved that much?
  16. Thanks guys...has anyone sold with heritage that can share what percentage they charge?
  17. Hello fellow comic book nerds, I have been collecting comics for 40 years and have decided to let them go. I need to let go of the past to invest in the future. I noticed the values on eBay are quite high but it would be daunting to list large numbers of comics on it. Would an auction house be a better choice? Where would I retain most of their value? Thanks!
