This is my favorite cover in the Scary Tales run. The colors just blow me away! Plus it sports a cool "Ghost Rider" type cover.
Calling DiceX
Very cool story inside too...here's just a taste!
Yup. I was a big fan of the Bronze Charlton horror titles.
Those painted covers used to give me the willies.
Great books! I don't see them in this nice of shape very often.
-
I'm pretty sure that is a Neal Adams cover right?
You are correct, sir.

Big kudos go to divadrabnud for sending me one of his beautiful tomato box comics!
Fantastic book, David! It's going to be in my collection for a very long time.
-
HOM paperback books w/ Wrightson covers.
Stunning covers!

Let me go get my laundry and then I'll do a lil writing.
Way to go, Beyonder!

Shiv, what is the deal with that monkey? I've been here almost as long as you have so it must've been a thread prior to my entrance. What's the story?
Going to see Spidey 2 tonight---finally!
-
no skeletons yet UV, but i have been itching to do one.
Just don't set his head on fire.
I can't take any more temptation.
Until I get my submission back, I'll just have to settle with being a groupie.
-
hmmmmm... i don't have one sadly, when i get one i'll PM It to you. Thanks again, the feedback is really encouraging to me!
Go back and edit all your posts to get rid of the shroom pic.
I don't want all the "day walkers" to get the scoop on my finds.
Your art kicks major , shiv.
I want one on the wall of my comic room BADLY.
It's inspiring me to dust off my drawing desk.
Not that my imagination can scratch the surface of this stuff.

the two at the top left i do still have, they are $250 for the skull spider & $300 for the mushroom. I have been lucky enough to get several comissions in the $400 range lately (like the clock one) so things are going in a good direction.
Dude, update your website, post in the marketplace & sell on eBay. You'd make a killing. Those are fantastic pieces.
No kidding.
Now I'm trying to figure out a way to come up with $300.

I have a thing about Clowns, Jack-o-lanterns, and Monkeys.
Childhood trama in all 3 cases.
Mabel the Monkey - I hope she's enjoying her stay in Hell.
Did someone say "Monkeys"?
Damn that thing still creeps me out.
-
ok, until Sterling yells at me for OT
this is a group shot of some recent paintings
i do children's book style fairy tale imagery & halloween for the most part so thgere is a little of both here
I'm digging the one on the top left with the jack-o hugging the mushroom.
Hows about a bigger scan of it?
-
that one was done by my friend he does some comic work here and there in indy anthologies. all of those images are really old. this is a newer image for a wine bottle i did for Madonna Estates winery in california that will be released this fall
That rocks too Shiv. You're one talented dude. Love your art style. Very unique.
Ditto.

By all means...Carry on.

Where's the is my answer? What flaw specifically? No luck at the LCS today.
But that's probably because I was running my trap instead of looking.
I'll go back tomorrow a little more focused.
What? Do you live upstairs from the LCS? I'm lucky to get to mine once a month!
It's only about 2 miles from my house.

Yeah, the book appears to be majorly mis-folded. Seems to be a rather common defects on early-mid 60's Marvels. Or maybe it's just me...
I guessed that's what he's talking about, but I wanted to be sure.
If this was an actual production defect, and not just a spine roll, I'll have to consult a higher authority.
An answer on how it happened will be posted soon.

Where's the is my answer? What flaw specifically?I'm still trying to find one with the flaw.
I can't tell without looking at it.
I'm going to the LCS today to see if I can find one with it.
Box up some of those sweet DC's and send them to me if you want a quick answer.
Even with the delay on yours, my turn around time is still blowing certain grading companies out of the water.

Looking at this one again, it could possibly be a large tear on the corner.
If that is the case, it's possible it could be production related.
If it's a smooth cut like the auction link, I don't think so.
I think that one would be post production.

Kudos to Shiverbones for sending me some great Ghost Riders!
I'm inching ever so closely to finishing the run now!
Also Kudos to Rip for a beauty of a HOM 205!
I've always wanted a copy of this book, and this one's a killer!
