Hi Everyone
I’m a board member for the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco, and I wanted to tell everyone about our first original art fundraising auction, Mike Mignola’s Hellboy: Tribute Auction and Show.
Proceeds from the auction will support the Cartoon Art Museum’s operations and public programming as the board and staff prepare for CAM's grand reopening at 781 Beach Street in San Francisco later this summer. It’s a great space and the new museum is going to be better than ever, and I want thank all of you who have already supported us throughout our capital campaign.
The online auction will launch on May 15 on eBay, under the user account “cartoonartmuseum” and will continue with new pieces added bi-weekly throughout the summer. The Museum will publish a full color catalog collecting all of the artwork created for the auction, and an exhibition featuring all of the artwork alongside a selection of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy artwork is tentatively planned for display at the Cartoon Art Museum in fall 2017. We’re asking all winners to allow us to hang onto the art until the show is finished, then each piece will be shipped.
We want to thank Mike Mignola for graciously allowing us to use his property for the auction, and a special thanks to Felix Lu of Felix Comic Art and his artists for their generous contributions, along with Glen Gold and Allen Spiegel for making a few calls here and there on our behalf, as well as every single artist who contributed artwork for the cause.
In no particular order, we’ll have art from James Harren, Nick Dragotta, Harry Bliss, Patrick McDonnell, Cliff Chiang, Daniel Warren Johnson, Garry Brown, Ian Bertram, Kent Williams, Chris Mooneyham, Riley Rossmo, Jeffrey Brown, Stephen Green Sam Kieth, and Geoff Shaw. And we have commitments from many more that I don’t feel comfortable naming until I have the pieces in hand. All of the art we have to date can be seen on the Comic Art Museums CAF page, and we'll keep adding new pieces as we receive them.

It’s for a good cause, and your contribution will go along way to making the museum great.
Thank you in advance for any support you can give us.
