  1. They are worth however much one can sell them for. For common books gpa gocollect works. Overstreet is dead on for the few dealers shops that still use it. Love those guys. Overstreet has never been accurate though. For one the information in a brand new guide is already year and a half to 2 years old. Two they don't update it each year either. As far back as I can remember dealers would be complaining how off the guide is and they won't correct it even though they are so called advisors reporting this information. They are on a high 90 percent of the time, but things they miss on are huge misses for sellers. I bought numerous nyx 3 bat 12 when they were 100 and $200 dollar books for $5 because overstreet didn't even have them listed as a 1st appearance or years later they had them extremely under valued.

So looking through the sellers items and their feedback I believe something will be shipped out, though what exactly was  sold is the question. It’s too cheap to be an original but too expensive for a reprint. With the buyer having a protected sale, it will be okay in the end though

Somebody just got a once in a lifetime deal on amazing fantasy 15.

Haha, I see what's up here. Perfect for those who buy the slabs and not the books. It is good advice. I always tend to think of the higher end reasons for slabs, but this is a better perspective.

Most people buy the labels grade. Most people can't grade or their criteria differs from grading companies. On this forum you have a higher percentage of comic educated people. General public is pretty clueless. I always give a honest grade or no grade. But the world is full of sellers who over grade by a lot and people pay the price for that false grade.

I believe the form would be a 1099 and no they don't. Buyers would be scamming MCS, not me, but not sure how they handle that sort of situation. I know that they don't ship items until payment clears. I've never had an issue. Their commission ranges from 10 to 6%

Yeah 1099. Dunno what I was thinking. I always used ebay. Moved on to facebook groups and such for good stuff. Been doing more buying then selling. But maybe one day will unload a lot if stuff and have them sell it.

I consign my copper and early modern slabs through MyComicShop. They list items on their site as well as ebay. Very happy with their service. I prefer not to list high priced items on ebay.

Do they send you a tax 1040? If buyer frauds you, do they handle it and eat the lost $ or you don't get paid?

    Question on eBay selling...

I sell all of my older comics using ComicLink. But it doesn't seem the best place to sell more modern variants. I know some eBay sellers do consignment. Are there any companys or sellers that you would recommend? Thanks in advance.

Lots of mega stores do consignment. Mycomicshop sounds good to me, never used them though. The big New York one. The one with the reese guy and his 2 sons took over. Getting old and can't think of the names. Pick one you like or has cheapest fees.

Checking back on some of the prices it looks like most of the desirable stuff went about 7-15% above FMV, so not quite as bad as it seemed in the heat of the moment, but still not leaving too many deals to be found.

What's interesting to me is how large can the pool of books being speculated on keep growing. With information continuing to constantly trickle out about MCU plans, but with movies pushed so far back, how long can some of these sustain their value?

I feel the same way about movies being delayed. I sell as soon as they get a big boost anyways even before covid. Any x-MEN or fantastic four keys that got the boost from disney getting the rights are long gone. Put $ to work somewhere else. Not going to bet on them doubling in value again.

I am not a good source for auction reports. I won't pay attention to anything that has been in a movie or show or speculated on unless it is 30 40 percent under fmv. If I see blade or moon knight or something 10 to 20 percent under value I just keep scrolling so no idea what the final hammer was. But that is rare, I remember seeing most things right around fmv with time remaining.

The bidding this week seems even more fierce than usual.

I bid on over a half dozen books, and bid pretty agressively on 4 of them.

I won none of them and was pretty shocked at some of the prices.

I didn't bid on anything all week then Friday I bid on 15 books. Won 5. Runner up on 7. Two was close on. One I bid 100 and it went for $235. Just everything I was interested in was end of alphabet I guess. Didn't get any unbelievable deals for sure. Fmv or under slightly. No bids over $500 and nothing even luke warm or hot. Every key hot book I seen went for fmv or above.

All? Not even close. Many? Perhaps. Some? Definitely.

All from what I seen. Hardly any are selling for more than $15 or even $10 but people are listing them and they are selling fast.

Clone wars fcbd been going for 2 weeks. Cant remember if anyone reported or not.

I think you would be surprised. I know of at least a couple of boardies who post in the modern forum from time to time that meet the generally accepted net worth criteria to be considered wealthy.

I would say most people in here are pretty well off. Everybody I know who treats comics as $ bought hoarded hundreds of copies of miles gwen silk aphra and all those books hit in a close time frame.

Sure some people want nothing to do with modern. Most of them don't part with old comics either. Purely collectors. I am not a huge fan of modern books but I pick up a lot of collections so come in here to see what trash I can unload.

Do you ever get any grief from the seller ... like "How come you didn't come to me first!"

I would always contact seller first. Might just be a misunderstanding. They might give you a partial refund. Give them chance to make things right.

If they offer returns, you can return book for any reason just pay the shipping. No returns you can still return if they deceived you. If page missing or cover detached wasn't shown in picture or mentioned in listing. If their pictures didn't show a stain. Whatever.

I'm not sure if this is the correct thread, but can anyone help me get my head around the pricing that I see on Ebay?!?!

Look for sold items. You can ask whatever you want. Some sellers list a book just to draw traffic. Some just show off their collection. Some put their I don't really want to sell it price but if someone pays it then good. Cgc will get a lot more $ in a 9.8 x-MEN 4 nm is $30 or $40 bucks. 9.8 almost 200

  13. Are you certain it was pressed? What was pressed out of the 9.6 to make it a 9.8?

Worst then paying 3x for the improved 9.8 would be to pay for the same 9.7

Pedigree doesn't do anything for me. Wouldn't pay extra for it. Just be patient and the right copy will come along one day. If not move on to something else, lots of books out there. If it is that important, then like beyonder said, should have bid more.

No. Only speculate on 1st apps that loom like no brainers. Spider-Gwen was a sure thing in his mind, same with Silk, since they were Spidey related and Marvel put some promotional $$$$ behind them. Focus on the new character 1st apps in top franchises, and/or ones the publishers are promoting behind the scenes. Also pay attention to what the writers are saying via social media.

I was joking. But he should of waited. I was buying more at $20. Has there been a sure thing in the last 3 years? I think the ones you mentioned are the last ones.

I' m personally tired of miles books heating up lol Can't deny the facts and evidence though. I noticed the #1 2019 series was heating up at first, however this one caught up in the past few days and then some.

If they all haven't heated up yet they will soon. Divad loves miles discussion so the more the better.

Most impressive I seen is hip hop cgc 9.8 $500. Two months ago $50
