  1. I see a lot of teen and twenties speculators so that aspect is strong. Kids would probably love comics if introduced to them. They gotta get out of the house 1st. Someone needs to take them to a shop. Parents or friends need to inspire them to get into comics.

I don't blame them if they never discover or enjoy comics. They can play listen to or watch anything they want anytime they want. Between 4 hours of home work, sports and dance, social media, when do they have time to read a comic book.

Apparently I'm grumpier than you. After 20 years I quit reading Hulk when they ruined World War Hulk and restarted a #1 with that stupidass Red Hulk with horrible art by Ed McGuiness and terrible stories by Jeph Loeb.

I stopped reading everything in the early 90s. It was easy with only 1 xmen, 1 hulk, just reading amazing spiderman etc. 100 titles a month just was too much. Not enough good artist to go around. And life got in the way. And the price. Under a buck I was good with. After that it got my mind thinking I could spend my money on better things. I still read comics though. Mainly years after they came out when they are part of a collection I pick up. Some great stuff, lobdell on titans and red hood. Johns green lantern Justice League. Or 1st appearances issues. Getting back into new book speculation so will be back reading 1st appearances. If you love harley and want to drop $500 or $1400 on her, go for it. Good for you. But her 1st appearance is in a cartoon. Just a female joker. Nothing wrong with liking her. Just personally with that kind of $ I can buy a way older book with a actual 1st Appearance and the character will be more original. Also has room to increase in value by multiples in some instances.

Yup. Never underestimate the power of the fanboy.

It's just me. Grumpy old man. I been reading hulk for 40 some years. So I don't get too excited just because they made him Asian, immortal, yellow, or give him wolverine claws. I have or had the 1st appearances of many original characters so these flavor of the week things I can care less. Just bought a collection, hq x23 9.6 maybe 9.8 in it. No desire to keep them. Nyx all new wolverine are good reads. Still just a knock off unoriginal character. If people want to buy these modern books good. Nothing wrong with it and I am glad. Modern is where it is at, no doubt it's hot. I will stay in gold silver bronze. Can't believe the awesome deals I get while people are paying $40 because the hulk is yellow.

Invest. I go see some of those books gaining traction.

I really like Spider-Man 2099. That was a pretty good read.

They either have too big of a print run or already hot books. They have room to grow but not enough to consider a good investment. If you get asm 365 make sure they are 9.8s. If I was dead set on edge I would take my chances and wait till end of year see if it cools off some. Just personally I never buy what the masses are. Try to find the next big thing.

I like these related  Ultimate Fallout #4  comics.

    Edge of Spider-Verse #2
    Edge of Spider-Verse #5
    Spider-Man Noir #1
    Spider-Man 2099 #1
    The Amazing Spider-Man #365

any opinions of which would be the best ?

Best for what? Best to invest in or best to burn for warmth in a survival situation?

  6. I think they are dead on 90 some percent of the time. Rest of time not off by much. Once in awhile might be a human error, wrong label, encapsulation mistake. I don't think they have a mood towards grading. They have a formula and follow it. My grading will not be inline with them all the time for sure, but only because we have a different formula.

Personally if I have a book with black CT which is the most common, dots of black, I go over it with a silver sharpie.  I'd rather have a book downgraded due to a dot of silver sharpie than a 50% loss in value due to CT.  I do not submit books but this is my stance.
I can do what I want.

Old man stan was good for this, and defects as well. Just cut your signature window out, and he would cover up anything you wanted hidden with that square blob of ink signature.

Have to hold. Can hold is usually not a good thing.

My (and many others) is sell on the announcement and trailer. Depending on stock, you can sometimes do well buying in between. Just don't get left with any after it's released!

I sell on the weak rumor long as it boost the book enough. Lately the price for rumor is same as announcements or trailer. And rumor is usually fake or years ahead of official announcement where my $ can be invested again instead of sitting on it.

I wouldn't be looking for black widow books to flip. Maxed out for short term. Long term not sure. That actress is the new it girl so maybe the new black widow for a decade.
